PHOSPHOR - Sandra Lee EP 1981

A few minimalistic sounds now by Phosphor, a band from Hanover and formed 1979 by Lennart (guitar/vocals), Jens (bass/vocals), Uwe (drums), Frank (saxophone), and a good year later they released their debut EP with five songs via the band's own label Spargel Schallplatten. Followed by the album Frisch & Fruchtig, which was voted one of the ten best independent long-playing records from Germany by the English New Musical Express. Phosphor disbanded in 1980 and Jens went to Der Moderne Man and the rest had already formed the NewWave band Index Sign by late 1979. At the beginning of 1981 this last EP with three tracks was released. For the fact that they were more local and their records sometimes reach decent amounts among collectors, they are welcome guests on relevant Compilations. I think, a relaxing finish for the first bad day of the week.

V/A - Jung Kaputt Spart Altersheime! 1994

Let's open the icy Saturday with a tidbit of German punk culture which was immortalized by Nasty Vinyl unfortunately only on CD: Hannover Punk '78-'84. We meet old friends together with 'new' and unreleased goodies. Twenty-five dirty nasty songs, partly live and from practice rooms, who influenced the musical events in and around Hanover at the time and this small compilation offers a good insight of the former activities and highlights and it's great fun to hear the old classics again. I had them myself but gave them to a good buddy for a birthday. A few records of the bands are in the blog distributed, go and search for it.

V/A - Bloodstains Across Germany 1998

I think it's a great choice to open a delicious beer on a Friday morning and present another Bloodstains killer compilation. Today to guest in the heart of Europe: Germany. The German punkscene has born numerous fantastic bands in their early days, which have released numerous essential records which still haven't lost nowadays none of their explosiveness and sharpness (a few examples in the blog). Politically, ironically, self-critically, cheekily, provocatively and of course anarchistically classics were recorded and in twenty-one classics immortalized on this slab. Und damit nicht genug; a second compi was made a short time later which I will post shortly. A nice intro from the back cover for you: "Achtung! you filthy punkrock scum. It's time for a new edition of the wonderfully sick Bloodstains records. This time we take you to scenic Germany, home of Auschwitz, Jägermeister and pretty peasant woman.
