PANIKRAUM - @ Waggon, Offenbach 09.09.2017

Now it's time for live stuff on WDM Records and in September 2017 Panikraum were guests at the best location in the Rhine-Main area called Waggon. Panikraum are Alexander (vocals & guitar), Markus (guitar), Jasper (bass) and Nico (drums) and were founded in Mönchengladbach. "We make music, a little punk, a little rock, a little wave. Lyrically emotional and personal, but also political. A mixture of its own kind." After a nice demo they released their debut Kopkino in 2017 on Major Label (order) with fourteen fantastic emotional goodies and since I love the bands in which some of the gentlemen are also musically active it was a must to cycle to Offenbach and as always, it was an extraordinary experience and a fantastic evening. The recording is quite brilliant and if you wanne get in touch with the band join Facebook and bring them to your city. Thank you for the little break from everyday life!

PANIKRAUM - Demo 2016

Bands from Mönchengladbach are always worth listening to, and since I only know a few of them and they're all great, I can say that. Panikraum is one of them, a four piece formed around mid-2015 and featuring members of die Strafe and EA80. It's an interesting collaboration, and if you like both, you can't help listen. Five songs between heaven and hell, energetically driving, but with a large portion of despair, themes such as lost love, disappointment, struggle and always getting up and carrying on, no matter how shitty the situation is and how emotional the rollercoaster ride is, are in the foreground and hit you right in the core (and of course in your fucking heart, provided you have one). A good eight years ago, they were guests at the Waggon in Offenbach (listen), and it was a magical evening, as always at this location. It's about time I went there again. And now full attention for Panikraum!

SURF PUNKS - My Beach 1980

Last one today and actually I wanted to post 'Locals Only' but I can't find it anymore so I'll take the second album by the Surf Punks, a PopPunk band from Malibu. I must confess the Surf Punks are a bit to poppy for me, sure they have punk riffs and it's without doubt a good record but to be honest, they blow me not out of my socks. I don't know but I came not in, it pass me by like a leaky faucet or a stale beer, you know. And by the second hearin' I still find nothing special on it. Maybe this is not my kind of music, too lame and to commercial. Well, I'm sure a few maniacs of you search for this album and now happy that it's available here. Tonight a concert with Klotzs and Panikraum in Excess and I know it will be a long funny evening.

V/A - Positive Energie [New German Underground] 2018

Wie bereits vor einigen Tagen von mir angekündigt jetzt ein weiteres Highlight in diesen, von Euch allen geliebtem Blog, mit einer compilation die diesmal mit neuen Sounds aus heimischen Landen der Jahre 2011-2018 bestückt ist. Part V, nach Trotzdem Süß, meiner kleinen Serie rarer deutscher Musik und wir tummeln uns hier im Punk, Post-Punk bis Alternative und Rock Sektor mit Bands die zum Teil schon Singles, Alben oder nur Demos am Start haben, einiges erhältlich bei This Charming Man, dem independent label aus Münster mit massig heißem Stoff aus aller Welt. Ich glaube die 23 Songs machen deutlich welch großartige Bands es in Deutschland gibt und ich denke dass sie gehört werden müssen auch anderswo und ich hoffe Ihr habt Gefallen an diesem kleinen schicken bunten Tondokument neuer deutscher Untergrund Musik. Danke an all diejenigen die mir einige der Bands näher brachten (Reinhard, ich hab dich leider im Booklet nicht erwähnt) und Part VI folgt 2019.
