KARIES - Seid Umschlungen, Millionen 2014

Started as a quartet and developed over the last few years into a different, more experimental like trio and I can't say exactly how I discovered Karies, which formed 2012 in Stuttgart, but in any case, I'm grateful for it. Their sound can probably best be described as "Coldness Made Musical." Waking up to the reality of a neoliberal world. Their stoically driving basslines, deliberate monotony, and recurring guitar riffs make these charismatic musicians a band I enjoy listening to in my desperate hell. To describe the songs as dark is almost an understatement, because they go deeper and pierce every cornerstone of your feelings like a milling machine. I think it was in 2015 or 2016 that my best friend took me to a concert on Klapperfeldstreet, a former police prison, and it was a revelation. Even though I was feeling incredibly fucking bad at the time, the loud & penetrating music was exactly what I needed. Pisse played as the opening act; I'd never heard of them, but they were absolutely fantastic, and I bought a 7Inch (thinking it would already be on the blog - wrong! - I'll rectify that sometime)Well, I bought the second and third albums, and that's it. The album 'Alice' was my farewell, and since then, Karies has been out of my sight. That's just how it goes. Nevertheless, I can highly recommend them because they create movements and don't give a damn about pigeonholes. Karies have landed a real firework with their debut and a trip to the dentist is definitely unnecessary.

ULTRAVOX! - Reading Festival/UK 27.08.1977

Ultravox are a British New Wave rock band and this amazing bootleg had a comfortable sound which you can download without problems. For all you out there which doesn't know the band click Ultravox!. I'm just too lazy to write more because yestarday I was in Darmstadt to join Karies and two others, I'm a little fucked up from too much beer. Fortunately is now Bundesliga and yesterday a historic moment, the SGE has stolen one point versus Bayern München.

A long, very emotional day comes to an end and I'm pretty exhausted. Besides, I'm fucking tired and I close the post marathon today with one more selfmade compilation. I tried to pack 6½ years and my current feelings in thirty songs and it was not easy but I think the result is delicious and I'm very satisfied. At this point I would like to thank all those who continue to send me music, fine and rare postin' (Hello KBD!), all those who leave a comment or otherwise support me. NISSES NÖTTER - Hammerhill Holocaust '83-'85

I'm ready for KARIES and FRONT in Wiesbaden and I'm in a hurry so a quick post and a yummy Hardcore Attack. This band had no official release and I wonder why because they're damn good. Nisses Nötter was a punkband from the suburb Hammarkullen in Gothenburg. Hansi Baumgartner (guitar), Nico Bergling (vocals), Tommie Liekola (bass) and Hans Wilholm (drums) started to play together in 1983. They made a cassette for Äggtapes called "Knäckta Nötter" in 1984. They made lots of gigs in Gothenburg and became famous mostly for their young age =11-12 year old punkrockers! And their gang: HK-Punks. Paul Vahala replaced Tommie as bass player in 1985. A few gigs were made and then the band went seperate ways. Nisses Nötter became The Nuts in 1986. In 2006 Nisses Nötter were regenerated, new songs were made and the band is out for gigs. Maybe their first record will come out, who knows. In 2008 the American label Farmhouse records released this superb compilation with all their recordings, some live stuff. A brilliant documentation plus a great artwork with lots of pictures, all lyrics and a short biography. "Punx not dead, we're only a bit older." All is said, haut rein boys!
