GROOVIE GHOULIES - Fun In The Dark 1999

One more great stuff from Lookout! Records with the Groovie Ghoulies from Sacramento and on their fifth album were involved Roach (vocals/guitars), B-Face (bass), Kepi (drums) and the three stand for excellent usual Ramones-style sing-a-long songs and is suitable for every party. This little fucker has thirteen of that. You will warm up to the album very quickly because the songs enter your genes unhindered like heroin into your vein and inject the good mood straight into your head, this is mainly due to the melodic power of the songs, the magical singing and ultimately the positive rhythms. This record brings you calm down, checks our visions and ensures a relaxing time. Forget all the new MTV Pseudo Pop-Punker, this is simply the best and original. And my neighbor just tells me: this beauty is reissued 2023 by Stardumb, etc... Records in a pressing of 1000 copies on transparent blue vinyl with black smoke, so watch fucking out!

GROOVIE GHOULIES - Re-Animation Festival 1997

Continue with great music. A band that stands for melodic, rough and dynamic sounds: The Groovie Ghoulies were punks from Sacramento/California, founded 1983 and disbanded in 2007, whose music took inspiration from horror movies. Originally comprised singer/bassist Kepi, his guitarist wife Roach, and drummer Wendy. They released numerous albums, EPs & Singles, and toured internationally. Their music is best classified as pop-punk and is heavily influenced by early punk groups, plus a dose 60s garage rock and solid Rock'n'Roll. Throughout their career the band recorded cover versions of songs by several of their heroes. I know that I saw them live at some point, because I bought the Lost Generation EP which I unfortunately no longer have, but I can't remember when but it was at a gig, that's for sure. Anyway, twelve bubblepunkies are waiting for you, better than any bedtime story.

V/A - OX-Compilation #53 2003

The OX is probably the best-selling punk fanzine in Germany and I think they were the first who put music with their Heftschä, first as a 7Inch and then as a CD. This gives bands the opportunity to get to know a bit, or to promote new releases, of course for a little cash. The compilations are usually very well mixed, great covers and there is also much to discover. Here's # 53 with thirty-one fat punk rock blasts (and the only X-Mas song).
