V/A - Bloodstains Across Denmark 1997

This was my first Bloodstains compi I bought back in 1997. Denmark is a very small country and there's only been a good handful of records being released over the magic years from 1978 - 1982. Most of them are surprisingly good as well as impossible to find nowadays. So reason enough for another fine compilation with unknown rare classics from the old days. A good half of the whole early Danish punk releases has been put out by Irmgard, the most important independent label at that time. Maybe the only one too. The complete label name reads "Irmgardzweimalnebendrittenscheissenplattenbrechtenihredinger". So now you all know. Note there are 25 Cuts on the LP and not 24, Song #9 is also taken from the legendary 'Concert Of The Moment' Live LP. There are many copies from this slab in the net but I was not content with those rips so I do it by myself, hope you enjoy it. All cover artwork included and now let the old days come in.

ELECTRIC DEADS - Anti-Sex EP 1982

This is not really new in Blogland but now I have the desire to hear this fuckin' great Danish combo: The Electric Deads, a four piece hardcore punk band from Espergærde, Fredensborg and Humlebæk, they formed in 1981 by Nils (bass), Kevin (guitar + vocal), Bibi (vocal) and Michael (drums) and they released three awesome 7inches and all are damn cool. This is, I think, their second one on Electro Static Records and Bibi's voice is of course outstanding to the fast sound. No wonder they are a must contribute on the Bloodstains Across Denmark compilation. Small country, unforgettable music.

MISANTHROPIC CHARITY - My Friend EP 2017

I'm very busy converting music so that I only can find now muse for the blog, but it's worth the wait: 350 copies exist from this EP with three songs which were recorded at MediaSound Studios in spring 1987 and released via No Plan Records. Misanthropic Charity were Danish punx from Copenhagen and formed by ex-members of Electric Deads & Enola Gay and consisted of Bibi (vocals), Anderz (guitar), Lars (bass), Michael (drums). They play melodic, powerful and intense music and weren't active for too long, they released one album and a demo, which is featured on this EP here. Now breakfast and sehen was noch geht!

- Great Thx to Fredrik -

FRESHLY - Air (Quoth She) 1986

Now a re-upp from the unfortunately inactive Phoenix Hairpins blog which was first posted by Curious in 2007 and I want to adopt his words here: "Danish band Freshly originally started as Freshly Riots. As Freshly Riots they released two records. The first is the Delightfully Fresh EP in 1982. Second release is the Hope album released in 1984. This album contains eleven tracks of punk inspired by early Stranglers. For the second album 'Air (Quoth She)', they shortened the name to Freshly and went for a more postpunk sound, with some hints to Killing Joke. All records were released on their own Bondeskiver label. Another release on this label is the 'Complication' comp. slab (maybe soon) with ten punk & new wave bands from Denmark as War Of Destruction, Electric Deads and Sods." Last strong record of this great band whose music evolved from snotty punk to melodic numbers.
