V/A - Ultra Hardcore Power 1983

I know this is not the Hardcore Vol 1 sampler that was required (I'll post it soon) but this one is just as essential. It's the first compilation from Mülleimer Records, the third most important German label in my opinion and have released in six years a few cool german punk records which are nowadays very sought and you can find a few of course on wdthtc. On this platte five bands, Normahl had at that time two records out, their legendary Stuttgart Über Alles EP and their first album Verarschung Total, Chaos Z with four cuts which are already sound dark and personel and already have the later Fliehende Stürme touch, all exclusive. In Stuttgart at home german Oi! combo Herbärds with their first vinyl outputs, two decent streetpunk numbers with funny lyrics. In 1984 the band released their debut album and they're somehow still active. Then Inferno from Augsburg and their classic hardcore tunes which made them interesting for the American punkers and their first album Tod & Wahnsinn is a blast (comin' soon) and last but not least Bluttat from Mülheim who unfortunately did not make the breakthrough, although they had three first-class brilliant hardcore albums with aggressive lyrics and they have been honored by Colturschock Records with a compilation called "Raw And Pure 1981-1984" (1000 copies) with old & rare goodies and I can recommend this record because it's fuckin' great. For a first label compilation not bad, everything sounds very raw and genuine and a year later Part 2 came out with more German underground noises, a better production and with bands which are not under contract upon Mülleimer and on the record are 100% exclusive tracks and it comes also in 192k/Bit in less than eight days. BLUTTAT - Liberté 1982

Fabulous debut by Bluttat with ten fast rough HardcorePunk attacks with pissed-off lyrics in German & English, as well as a few slower, more melodic tracks. Released via Ausschuß and the original record (which runs at 45RPM) is nowadays hard to find and that's the reason why Assel Records & Maniac Attack Records re-issued this slab in 2005 with two bonus tracks. Bluttat was founded in 1981 from the remains of Pissrinne in Mülheim/Ruhr and, until around 1986, consisted of Anja (vocals), J.R. (guitars/vocals), Uwe (bass), Ralph (drums). During this time they have recorded three albums and appeared on numerous Compilations to date. Their music is loud, raw and authentic and they did everything in pure D.I.Y. manner. A suitable review: "Some plodding German Punk and then...wham!, some super-frenetic thrash. Two singers share vocal duties, and the woman really wails. There’s some great stuff here, and I highly recommend over half of this record." (Tim Yohannan, MRR #7 • July/August 1983) Liberté is fifteen minutes intense, powerful, roaring and a "small" highlight of German Hardcore!

V/A - H'Artcore 1981

H'Artcore is a compilation that was published by H'Art Records with various punk bands from the Ruhrpott area, where some variables of the local punk scene, such bands as Upright Citizens were present today, others are only here to hear and then fade away. In 1999 the label Teenage Rebel Records has been re-released this record. The name of the compilation is a play on words and refers to the represented music on this album, which was then still referred to punk as it does not use the term 'Deutschpunk'. "The somewhat strange title is derived from the name of the label H'Art in 1981 and still new term Hardcore, which at that time for the harder, faster punk stood here on the sampler (the term German Punk was not in use)." Well, that was back then. A brilliant soundtrack indeed and even nowadays very audible.

V/A - Teenage Rebel ... Der Sampler #1 1995

This Compilation presents you excerpts from the not unimportant label Teenage Rebel Records from Düsseldorf, which was founded at the end of the eighties, therefore are mainly bands from this area here at home. There were four editions of this series, which mostly appeared in a cardboard sleeve, and in addition to 'old' bands, some of which were newly formed at the time, the range of 'new' German bands is not uninteresting and many such Compliations were available as inserts in renowned fanzines (Wahrschauer, Ox, ZAP etc..), an original idea I think, for less money you can come to new music and choose what you like accordingly. When I ripped this CD I thought it wouldn't be read because there are some deep scratches on it but the player did an excellent job and ran brilliantly, so here it is: a cool selection of cool songs and I guess there is something for everybody!
