THE BLITZKRIEG BOYS - Back From Nowhere 1989

The Blitzkrieg Boys was formed 1985 in Tampere, when Marty Blitzkrieg (vox) got an idea to form a band that would be a mixture of the Ramones, Cockney Rejects and the Misfits. Soon he found Gil (guitars), Kukka (bass) and Jussi (drums), excatly the right guys to play this kind of music. In 1988 they relelased their first record in form of an EP on Raktor Records with seven melodic punkies. I bought that in 1989 at a gig in the Marquee in Hamburg when Broken Toys and the Schwarzen Schafe toured through Germany. I was instantly elated. After a period without Punkrock I came in the mid 90s in touch with their only album which was released on the German label Teenage Rebel Records in December 1989 (1000 copies, 225 in orange vinyl and the rest black). The production is bit cleaner (which is almost too much) than the EP but I love the ramonesque style and they make it perfect as well. In 2011 the Finnish label Woimasointu released an album called 'Too Old To Die Young' but I have not yet heard it. All Right, enjoy the Blitzkrieg Boys and a nice weekend!

F.A.N.T.A. & BLITZKRIEG BOYS - Now I Wanna Sniff... Some Sun! EP 2008

500 copies on Rumble Records by this split CD with bands from the south and north heart of Europe. The south is represented by F.A.N.T.A., a three piece which formed 1999 in Santa Coloma de Gramanet (Barcelona) and initial members were Oscar (vocals/guitars), Gabi (bass), Beto (drums). They begin to rehearse and record a demo, I Want To Be Your Johnny Ramone, which was played by Juan de Pablos (Spanish National Radio 3) and little by little they gaving concerts and 2001 they recorded new demos and the result was, they played more gigs and become more known. In 2003 the debut Vacations On Mars on MusicForTop was released with fifteen songs in a decent Ramonesque style and from then on six albums followed, the last one in 2018. The Blitzkrieg Boys were founded in Tampere 1985 and after a fantastic EP they released one year later their brilliant debut Back From Nowhere in 1989 and the second and last came in 2011, since then it has become quiet around the boys. Both have a few compilation appearances and on this little piece of beach life are nine catchy waterdrops and both do a decent job throughout. Unfortunately only in 128k/Bit but I can't change it at the moment, but soon.

V/A - Teenage Rebel ... Der Sampler #1 1995

This Compilation presents you excerpts from the not unimportant label Teenage Rebel Records from Düsseldorf, which was founded at the end of the eighties, therefore are mainly bands from this area here at home. There were four editions of this series, which mostly appeared in a cardboard sleeve, and in addition to 'old' bands, some of which were newly formed at the time, the range of 'new' German bands is not uninteresting and many such Compliations were available as inserts in renowned fanzines (Wahrschauer, Ox, ZAP etc..), an original idea I think, for less money you can come to new music and choose what you like accordingly. When I ripped this CD I thought it wouldn't be read because there are some deep scratches on it but the player did an excellent job and ran brilliantly, so here it is: a cool selection of cool songs and I guess there is something for everybody!

LES VERMINES - Bad Childhood 1983

Now to a combo that already appeared sporadically in wdthtc on some compilations: Les Vermines from Rouen, active around 1980-1989. Line-up: White Spirit (vocals), Torchon (guitar), Ted (bass), Daniel (drums) and this is their amazing debut on Rive Gauche Records. Bad Childhood is peppered with eleven superb candy canes. Info: To history and purists, punk has only lasted for a season. In 1977, the death knell had already sounded. This did not prevent the Vermines from continuing the adventure in the 80s with two albums in their own juice worthy of the best English productions of the good era. Adopting the language of the Queen of England, the group doesn't seem to care about this detail of the story and rushes headlong into a punk à la Sex Pistols and Ramones from which they also cover the title Blitzkrieg Bop and Warhead by the UK Subs on this album. The Rouen scene can be proud of these boys and you can convince yourself by the excellent songwriting and the amazingly good quality of these fourRecorded & mixed in twenty-two hours during summer 1983. They left two albums, a 7Inch and a tape for posterity, plus some compilation appearances. Brilliant debut in every way!
