TOY DOLLS - Everybody Jitterbug 7'' 1982

This month I will try to post some requests, Wanted_List and rare stuff and should someone have anything from the adjacent list please send. Start with the Toy Dolls and their rare single that appeared 1982 on Zonophone. To the band just a few words because I think everyone knows them. In a Nutshell, the band began in Sunderland, North East UK in October 1979. Throughout the past 30 years+ The Toy Dolls have built up one of the strongest most loyal fan bases known to a Punkband on this level. Live I've never seen but musically the fun combo par excellence. The right opener for breakfast.

V/A - Tepid Spit Artists/Rare Trax Vol.9 1988

I leave April with this bootleg tape from Down Under which I bought in the 80s from any mailorder when I remember right. At that time I'm not an insider of Australian Punk stuff and  that's why I get this tape for a low price. Now most of the songs are still available and on classic compilations (Flowers From The Dustbin, Bloodstains Across Australia, Not So Humdrum, etc...) scattered but a few cuts are still rare and the records nowadays very hard to get. I think the song selection here is quite good and the work has been worth in any case. This is a C-60 tape in an acceptable sound quality and the last post for today. I wish a sunny long weekend.

This excellent Northern sampler has something for everyone. Great tracks from bands I know (Sudden Impact, S.N.F.U., Problem Children, NoMeansNo) and other young bands I don't know. Psyche Industry Records released this classic compilation and shows the active underground scene in Canada was and is intact. Brilliant song selection, cool artwork complete this piece of canadian contemporary Punk-History.

V/A - Hier Ist Niemand 2x7'' 2010

SlowIy April ends and thus my little trip with compilation posts. Yet a fine one with this rare double 7inch which was released by the small label Rotten Totten Records from Berlin. They dig out long-forgotten recordings and pressed it on vinyl in limited copies. So these recordings were all recorded 1982 and came original out on Flop-Records as a tape if I'm correctly informed. All bands from Berlin and the healthy mix of punk/hardcore and a little obscure stuff provides an exciting entertainment. Sound-wise not always in top digital quality but who wants that? I think it's nice when people appreciate the music and bring back these wonderful times and keep the spirit alive (and this not only in Germany, you know). So this little pieces of vinyl were limited to 150 copies and now have fun with the sound of the 80s. By the way, the title Hier Ist Niemand (Here Is Nobody) is a grandiose Blogname.

V/A - The End Was At Hand [Special] 2012

This nice comp was created by my Austrian mate Reinhard (at that time for the legendary, much-loved WildDevilRules blog). Cause was the general hysteria the world would end in 2013, according to the Mayas and well, it's doomsday and I wonder why all these spinners in poor hippie clothes such an uprising practice. The world goes down slowly and not otherwise. I must confess, I did not much notice of a new Apocalypse and honestly I don't give a shit. I demand doomsday as a public holiday where we all not must work. Maybe the Mayas sacrificed more people that day as usual. Well fuck it, the masses needs always some shit where they can hold on to, funny that it's always at the turn of the year, has almost become a tradition. Idiots!!! Not only this was the occasion for my Austrian friend Reinhard to create this self-made compilation here but also to put his favorite songs in a splendid selection on a CD, adorned with a glossy cover. And the result is great, brilliant punkrock from all corners of the world in beautiful order. Great Stuff!! A few words from Mr. Reinhard to the CD:

So we travel again for a short but worthwhile trip over to ex-Yugoslavia. To the makers of YU Punk #1, which comp although sprayed significant positive response and here in my house already the cries of "Where's Vol.2" accumulated, was the owner of this small but good side yu-punk so nice to upp this awesome gem again for all of us maniacs who love Balkans-Punk-Rock. Two CD's with tons of rare and sometimes demo tracks of bands which earn your kind attention and I'm sure you will not regret it. The sound quality is quite brilliant, a few tracks are known but there is still much to discover and again I must tip my hat when I meet such lovin' self-timbered Compilations, and this piece is amazing! - "Mr. Blue, Hvala Vam Od Srca!" V/A - Le Rock D'Ici A L'Olympia 1978

Unique live album of the early French punk movement, recorded at the Olympia "Rock D'Ici" Festival/Paris, 8th, 9th, 10th July 1978. A superb compilation of very good bands with great tunes. The recordings are first-rate quality and I as an avowed friend of live plates award my highest mark. Remarkably the version of 'I Wanna Be Your Dog', the singer has an extraordinarily voice and gives the song a brilliant darkwave touch. I mean, I know many versions and the most are fast, dirty and pure punkrock but what Electric Callas made is erste Sahne!!!! Released on Pathé Marconi EMI, reissue 1999 as CD on Jurassic Punk/Anthology's.

V/A - Apathy... Never! 1986

A suberb release is this international HC Sampler from 1986 which was released by Over the Top Records. Mostly Europeans bands here and i must say the tracks from the finland bands are awesome, particularly "Dallas" blows me away. The intro is amazing and we all remember this crappy serie. Also the other songs can be quite convincing and have a lot of energy. The special feature of hardcore music is always put your feelings in short fast and aggressive songs and get yourself some fresh air. - This LP had everything what a good hardcore record needs.

V/A - Capital Kaos 1984

Last but not least a little visit to the Kiwiland. This New Zealand compilation consists mainly of live material by ’77-style punk bands. That's not to say it's bad, because there are some pretty cool songs herein, especially by Final Solution, Riot III (who does some thrash), Flesh D-Vice and Zyklon-B. Jayrem Records released these awesome cuts and sealed them to a historic record. Put the plate on the stereo, turn it right up and when the filth enter, sneak out and molotov their cars! Then run.
