Now a rare piece from Cleveland based NewWave band Generators and this short-lived five piece consisted of Eva (vocals), Don (vocals/guitars) Jimmy (guitars), Stutz (bass), Mark (drums) and this is their only sucker with two cuts on Big Noise Records (probably their own label but I don't know it right). One thing is for sure, the A-side is an extremely pop song with a female voice that makes me feel a bit wistful and moves my ass less, and even comes across as really boring, New Wave, PowerPop? well, that's in the eye of the beholder. The b-side is the clear winner with its punky rhythm and dirty delivery. But there is no room for complaining here! A slab that is certainly interesting for every lover of this blog and because it is so fucking rare it belongs here and in the end I don't care, you must take what I give you, I'm King! (You can see how nice it is to be the Boss, uhhhh!). Bundesliga is waiting; today versus Leverkusen and three points should be possible at home.

PETER & THE TEST TUBE BABIES - Crap Californian Punk Band 7'' 2017
Weekend and suitable for this is the following musical explosion and Peter's Test Tube Babies (known as much for their snarky sense of humor and working-class outlook) pre-released this 7inch from their album That Shallot on Arising Empire Records and is limited to 400 copies. Short story: in 2017 the four toured the United States in support of their above mentioned album, and they made headlines when Bywaters was deported after a show in which he dressed up as the blond idiot on-stage. Some media outlets reported that Bywaters' less than flattering impersonation of the President was the reason he was sent back to the UK, but US Customs and Border Protection officials insisted it was simply a matter of Peter having the wrong visa. Howsoever, they made an official video for this song which was shot in sunny Hastings and features cameo appearances by Rancid frontman Lars Fredericksen and Hasting’s own Maid Of Ace. The flip is also a small highlight, namely the Toten-Hosen dare to 'The Jinx', the classic Babies hit from the early days. And they don't do that badly at all. In any case, a nice record and you can now open a cool 🍺.

HERWIG MITTEREGGER - Kein Mut-Kein Mädchen 1983
First solo album from Herwig Mitteregger and I bought it because of the terrific 'Kalt Wie Ein Stein' single which became one of my favorite songs and I still enjoy listening to it nowadays. A bit info: "Herwig was ahead of his time. His music is far more akin to the Punk it originally came from than the typical Spliff sound. Less pop, more rock is the order of the day here. Production techniques that were innovative at the time, multifaceted arrangements and ingenious ideas when writing Mitteregger's words make this album something special. Kein Mut - Kein Mädchen is a diverse and inspired album that was unparalleled at the time." (Source: Deutsche-Mugge) - Eight atmospherically varied songs, including a cool cover version of AC/DC, are gathered on this record, which aren't always funny, but inspire and still have a merriment here and there. Good stuff!

URBAN DOGS - s/t LP 1983
Let's come to another fantastic record, the Urban Dogs debut on Fallout Records. Info: "Instead of moving forward, we retreated and after three consecutive nights at CBGB marking the end of our tour, we flew back to the UK where we had arrived in early 1983, exhausted, discouraged, and fearful for the future of the UK Subs back in London, Charlie and I, eager for a change of scenery, had put together a garage-style line-up with Knox (Vibrators) and Andy McCoy (Hanoi Rock) on guitars, plus Matthew Best (a friend of Captain Sensible) on drums. We toured England as the Urban Dogs, and released an album of boozy covers of old New York Dolls & Iggy Pop & The Stooges classics, in addition with own material. Despite this interesting side project, the question of the future of the UK Subs remained unanswered..." (Alvin Gibbs) - Those are the basics. You will find far more than twelve songs in this file, and that's a surprise and I know you will be thrilled... enjoy!

THE STALIN - 虫 1983
Mushi is the third output by The Stalin from Fukushima and again via Climax Records released: it's a furious, frentic enjoyable record. Basically everything is right here, the production, the cover, the blistering pace, the superior voice and twelve songs in just under thirty minutes. I don't really have to write more about. If you don't know the band yet, you should change this as soon as possible, because music from Japan is always interesting and extremely different. I leave the stage today with a solid review: "This great band from Japan has been putting out records since 1979 (five 7″ers, one 12″ EP, and two LPs), but they’ve somehow escaped notice in the West until now. Their latest picture disc album is amazing, like those of the best Finnish bands. The slower songs are wickedly powerful and tuneful, with great wrenching guitar work, and the more numerous thrashers are awesome. Plus, Japanese production is the best in the world, so order them when Rough Trade begins distributing them." (Tim Yohannan, MRR #8 • September 1983)

FUCKIN GUTE BÜRGER BAND - Des Endlose Krampf Mit Dem Egoländers 1981
From Hechingen near Stuttgart came the Fuckin Gute BĂĽrger Band and consisted of H.W. Rotkraut (vocals/guitars), Meier (guitars), Sandy (bass), Lord Patexx (keys), Micha Motorrad (drums). In 1980 they released their debut Live In Stammheim on Unknown Records (1000 copies). The second and final album followed a year later on the same label. The musical range of the five is pleasantly diverse, punk, NDW and a little bit of reggae flow into each other and the biting, vomited lyrics, are sharp and provocative. Political slogans are largely avoided and would rather suit the band less. At first glance one might think this is an uninteresting Seventies Kraut Revival band, but fourteen outpourings prove the opposite. I can't tell you how I got this slab, but I'm glad I ripped it. On Compilations are F.G.B.B. rarely found so give them a listen and enjoy good feelings with great guitar parts!

TROUBLEMAKERS - Vild & Vacker 1999
We stayed in Sweden and meet the Troublemakers from Gothenburg again with their third record on Ägg Tapes & Records with fourteen decent rockin' goodies and if you enjoyed the singles then the album will appeal to you as well. We enjoy catchy 90's Punk as it was presented almost everywhere at the time and that certain amount of mid-tempo Rock'N'Roll inevitably mixes with top notch Punk sound and I'm too drunk to let out any more words, besides being disappointed by people who say it was nice and confirm exactly the opposite but that doesn't belong here, it's purely private. It doesn't matter, people are and will always be shit and this post won't change anything about that. Enjoy the record and don't ask why, it's useless anyway.

SĂ–TLIMPA - A Non Fitting Generation 12'' 1984
It's a bit chilly this morning so it takes some heated music to warm you up and the following slab from Skvaller Records does that perfectly. Sötlimpa was a Swedish combo from Mölndal outside Gothenburg and consisted of Jesus (vocals), Martin (guitars), Raimo (bass), Hans (drums). The band was formed 1981 in the beginning of the second wave of Punk, influenced by bands like the Exploited and developed from Punk with Oi!-influences to a raw Hardcore quartet. In total they released a Single, a 12Inch and two cassettes and represented on numerous compilations. They disbanded in 1984, before re-emerging in 1992, 1996 and 2017. In their relative short time if existence the gang is claimed to have made around 100 gigs and earned a reputation as a great live band. A useful review: "Up-tempo Hardcore with catchy rhythms from Sweden’s Sötlimpa. Driving pace but it keeps the harmony and beat. Fun, danceable stuff. Too bad it’s a muddy mix; still, you’ll never know as you fly with the music." (Pushead, MRR #20 • Dec. 1984) - Brilliant Stuff!

SECTION 8 - Hollywood Halloween 7'' 1979
Section 8 was a combo from Ottawa and active from 1980-1989 and have reformed subsequently in 2000 and 2006. This is unfortunately their only record with two cool goodies on Zero/Zero Records. In the same year they made more recordings that were planned as the Unstable World album, but never released because the studio lost the master tapes, stupid thing that. Well, and so only these two crackers remain but they're an excellent start into the weekend. Enjoy!

NO PUB - Juste Un Peu De Bière EP 1997
No Pub was a French quartet from Blois and was active between 1981 and 1982 and consisted of Denis (vocals), Fonfon (guitars), Vava (bass), Eric (drums). This four track EP was released via Euthanasie Records in an edition of 1000 copies and the goodies are already appeared on the great Apocalypse Chaos compilation on Chaos Productions ('82) and as bonus, extra for this slab, is a live version of the title track included. Musically a solid Oi!/Punk cocktail as it is common in this league and thus gained attention/popularity. If I feel like and have time, I also look for the Sampler. And now a small cold beer 🍺
