CHAOS - Tribal Warfare EP 1984

Pogar was a small vinyl punk label in West Berlin of the eighties, which originated in 1981 in the former Berlin indie record store Vinyl Boogie. A total of about 50 different titles appeared on Pogar and this is Pogar 10. Chaos is one of these very unknown bands because they never release an official album, 1980 came their first demo out and then further a few tapes. In 1984 in an edition of 1000 their only vinyl here on Pogar Records. A compilation CD with all their recordings were released from Street Dogs Records and that's it. At that the 4 gents are not bad at all. Typical 80's UK punk sound in the vein of G.B.H, just a bit dirtier. Nice driving guitars, a decent tempo and a cool voice, really a lost nugget. What's next Baby???

V/A - Pesthauch Des Dschungels 1983

Absolute cult compilation with lots of bizarre punk bands. Released on Park Platten Records and is today much sought (a limited number of copies comes with a net and a set of cards). They range from punk rock, darkwave and a bit of experimental music. I like this diversity and this is why sampler are just made. It's a long time ago I listen to it and now I thought, I should post it. A true masterpiece I would say, very well done. Note: behind the "Die Ulkigen Pulkigen & Die Geilen Greise" hide none other than Die Ärzte.

1.Too Much Too Soon - CHIM CHIM CHEREE!
2.Die Einsamkeit Der Würstchen - DIE ULKIGEN PULKIGEN
3.1000 Jahre - DIE AUTOS
4.Lehn Dich An Mich - K.T.P.
5.Sator - ASMONDI BIZARR
6.Schweigen - EA80
7.Schön Ist Anders - FAMILY 5
8.Arztgeschichten (Live) - DIE MIMMIS
9.Kult - FREUNDE DER NACHT
10.Motor Im Kopf - DIE SHADOCKS
11.Ich Hab' Udo Lindenberg Die Beine Amputiert - DIE GEILEN GREISE

THE BRAINS OF HUMANS - Game 88 EP 1989

Holy Shit, I have a big hangover and four gigs in one month is really too much.......but there is no better way to waste my time and yesterday it was once again a nice evening with wonderful people. Since I have not much lust to sit today in front of the computer just a little faster post by a band from Zurich with their only release I think, 2000 copies were made and we have 4 tracks, slightly metallic wrapping mixed with classic hardcore. The singer seems really pissed and lyrics like "Give Aids A Chance!!!" are very zynical & speak for themselves. This EP is awesome, comes fat if you want to start a day with drinking.

ALTERNATIVE - In Nomine Patri EP 1982

Last one for today because I'm in a hurry for Serene Fall/Klotzs tonight in Exzess so I stolen the info from PunkyGibbon (forgive me): "These Scottish anarcho punks first surfaced with the poppiest (and by far best) cut on 1981's execrable Bullshit Detector. “Change It’, lifted from their demo, was a pretty crap song, but it had a tune and the whole LP was so miserable that even this innocuous ditty sounded good. So, having released their first recording via Crass, they spent the rest of their career being compared to them. By the time of the In Nomine Patri EP, they had a second guitarist - Dougie McHale (Actives) - and Wilf had been replaced by Gordon 'Gogs' Smith. With the addition of another vocalist (Linda 'Linger' Rotherham) they then shared a split cassette with Dirt and Reality Control (Live 23.10.82 The Bunker), and underwent more lineup changes. The new band released If They Treat You Like Shit - Act Like Manure, an LP which is considered an anarcho punk classic. They split in 1986 after recording more demos with yet more personnel revisions."

SLEEPY SLEEPERS - Sinulle Äiti 1975

This is a complete surprise and I never heard of them and they exist since 1975 as Punk was still in its infancy. The Sleepy Sleepers were founded in Lathi + the band released 19 albums between 1975 and 1989. Sakke Järvenpää and Mato Valtonen were the main members of the band, later they founded Leningrad Cowboys. This is their debut album and here's a brilliant mix of Rock'n'Roll classics, nice ballads and fast dirty punk tunes. They describe themselves as a rock band and maybe they are so on their other albums Sinulle Äiti kicks the shit out of me and for the mid-70's they were surprisingly far in terms of a rough sound. What they sing is beyond my knowledge but their lyrics must not always family safe - it's written their records were banned on Finnish Broadcasting Corporation. This is not always bad, right?? Enjoy thirteen tracks of this exceptional combo.

COCKS IN STAINED SATIN - Hebephrenia 1987

Here again another pearl of Frankfurt's Cocks. After two EP's and a 12" this is their first full length album. All music were written by drummer Bernd Hasenfus (R.I.P.) so why this is called Hebephrenia. This album brings twelve very catchy choruses and upbeat riffs together with a slick production that keeps a raw edge. All twelve songs have a serious pop flavor which causes a cheerful sound and a sense of humor. I listen to them now and then I thought by myself: why not post? I'm a genius, haha.. The record was pressed in bloody red vinyl and is today very rare and hard to find. A fantastic punk goodie which is simply just fun. I love them - Fits every birthday or SM party.

THE SCABS - So Called Friends 7'' 1981

The Scabs are a Flemish band that were founded by Guy Swinnen (vox+guitar), Frank Saenen (drums), Fons Symons (bass) and Willy Willy (guitars) 1981 in Diest and had their greatest successes in the late eighties and early nineties. The original line-up of the band was composed in 1979. Strongly influenced by the British punk sound of the late 1970s; they were sometimes referred as the Belgian answer to the Clash. The first single 'So Called Friends' appeared 1981 on Refused Records. After two self-produced singles, the group signed a record deal with EMI. After the 12inch 'Here's To You Gang!' and the less successful debut album 'For All The Wolf Calls' they leave EMI and move to the new label Play It Again Sam Records, based in Brussels and released seven albums. 1996 the Scabs were history. On the occasion of the 25th band birthday they came together again, played a few concerts and in 2015 came their latest record 'Ways Of A Wild Heart' out. That's the short story. I like their first two singles best because these cuts are excellent punk killers, sound & rhythm = TOP!, cool voice and 'So Called Friends' is the absolute highlight for me. Rare record and one of my favourite piece of vinyl.

BLACK MARKET BABY - Baby Takes 1991

Oh Yeah, one of my favourite DC bands are Black Market Baby, I have their album but not the 7inches and like a revelation I get now sent this fantastic collection. Clear that it is my damned duty to confront you and this tidbit is worth every fucking tone. The name Black Market Baby was suggested by Keith (guitars) after seeing a trashy tv movie of the same name and the band were founded in 1980. The band's first record 'Potential Suicide' was released via Limp Records in 1981. Two years later their only full length 'Senseless Offerings' came out on Fountain Of Youth Records and is in my opinion one of the best US punk records, songs like 'Downward Christian Soldiers', 'Killing Time' or 'I See-You See' are grandiose played smasher, fuckin' rare record. In 1988 the band could not find a label to release the next album they broke up, playing a farewell gig in January 1988. In 1990 the label Yesterday And Today released two more singles, 'World At War' (Split with Bad Brains) and 'Drunk & Disorderly'. They loosely re-formed in 1993, playing the occasional show and recording sparingly before calling it quits again in 1997. So this collection was released by the Hamburg label Bitzcore and is full with bombs. A short review from the inoffical BMB site: "Half the Senseless Offerings LP and a bunch of stuff from '86—the unreleased material is some of BMB's strongest stuff, loud, punishing, hard-edged punk." - Excellent idea and certainly sell out very quickly, don't be a moron and make a choice.

TDK - Esto Es Una Empresa Capitalista 12'' 1985

Puh I'm really through, fantastic gig yesterday and can't wait to enjoy them again in Brighton. TDK (Terrorism, Destruction And Kaos) were a hardcore punk band born in Madrid, Spain in 1984. They exist about six years and released a couple of singles, an album and this 12''. Especially this record, managed to stick very strong in USA, where people from Black Flag and Dead Kennedys were impressed with the level shown by these guys. 80's spanish punk at its best by the underrated TDK, catchy punk rock with a dark edge, only comparable with Dead Kennedys or two of them previous band Espasmódicos.

V/A - The Label SoFar! 1979

This record is a request of mine and I'm glad I can listen now to it. Released by 'The Label' with bands that were there under contract and bring some good records in the grey world. A fine mix of nice songs and when you search for the solo records you realize that these things are rare and expensive, logically after 35 years. Fuck long drivel, so it's slowly time for the Chameleons concert here and now at 20:00 in Nachtleben and I cannot tell you how much I'm look forward for this damn cool gig....hhuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!! and tomorrow no work because it's Feiertag!!! - Have a nice evening :)
