PPPÖNK - PP. EP 1997

Here’s a blast from the Icelandic underground past. The band started in 1997 with an exchange student named Benjamin Jay Kline, who studied in Flensborg High School. He had agreed to partake in the school’s singing competition, with his own song. When the time came he decided to go to the movies instead and asked his “sister”, Laufey, to sing it instead, to which she agreed. The school band had one Freyr Gígja on guitar and Guðni on drums, and their co-operation proved so fun that they decided to continue, and recruited Nonni on guitar and Bjössi on bass. While waiting for the drummer on their first practice, a chap they knew named Kjartan was out walking his dog, and dropped in on a visit. He sat behind the drum-kit, counted in, and thus the band was fully formed. The band had one popular song, called “Surferboy” which got on some charts, and was released on a compilation CD called “Drepnir”. Then Freyr dropped out and Gísli Árnason took his place. The Sugarcubes’ label Bad Taste got wind of them and released this awesome 8 Song EP in 1997.

MRTVI KANAL - Prošlost I Budućnost 2008

Mrtvi Kanal was punk band from early 80's, from town of Rijeka, Croatia/former Yugoslavia. They never made it to the vinyl which unfortunately was a cause with many former Yugoslavian bands, but this awesome compilation of their early recordings is an absolute classic. They started as a classic punk band but soon they developed to a darker punk/new wave sound, and they had very powerful lyrics as well. They sing in Croatian about socially related stuff with razor sharp punk sarcasm that even had no mercy for punks as well, old punk from around here, a real identity and not just a life style fashion to fit in. Electric harmonica as a constant equal instrument in the band's sound collage in itself gives testimony to their proper tone. Past and future of the Compilation edition that the first seven songs combines footage emerged on the tape that was in 1983, therefore, at the very end of their career, shared with the group Cramp, while the remaining six shots from the very beginning of the bands career in 1979. The older material, unfortunately, is primarily characterized by poor sound quality, which is why some songs irritating to listen more carefully. Great pity, but I guess that's about it made the best deal possible. Feel it, of course, in music, but the most bother the ears of the vast differences in image quality. This release to me is all the more worthwhile & interesting, and definitely recommend to all lovers of punk and ''The Past & Future'' is another excellent album from the musically most significant period of Rijeka and forms a necessary part of the collection of new wave fans. In any case, praise edition.

V/A - Smashed Again!!! [Special] 2013

It's time to post another selfmade compilation which I made for our vacations and it gets me very sad but I think you will like it. Here's the original description from my old Blog: I'm still amazed that Forward Into The Past is yet popular and is still online, shows that you have taste ;). I also think that comp. is well done and a worthy successor was a real challenge. But here it is: again full with rare music from the early punk days mixed with new stuff, punkrock from all over the world. Once again my deepest thanks to all my blogger friends, supporters and those who provide me with songs and information, and of course those who leave their comments. And here I would like to ask the following question for you and tell me your opinion: How do you like this comp, what song and why exactly this song? Don't spare criticism, numerous comments would be nice. I'm excited to see what comes of you. With this post ends the week with temporarily various stuff and I think it was not a bad choice. ENDE NOVEMBER - Discography 2006

The music of this band would certainly run past me, and I am grateful that this was prevented (Cheers, Contra!!). Ende November were Vlado Jelic (Vocals/Lyrics/Guitars), Jo Tiedau (Bass) and Stephan Krakau (Drums/Percussion) and come from Cologne. "Through our music, there are two things to know: We sing in German, we make music which is peculiar." Well, their music moves between fast and melodic passages, slightly tinged dark and a comparison with EA80 is quite not wrong. "Besides the music we care about the content: by Dylan we have copied us how summarizes internal processes into words. The same goes for Cohen and Nick Cave. On the other hand, that does not always have to be slow and deliberate. Role models are nice and very well, Ende November is neither a cover combo, even a static project. Ende November is a living process..." To date, unfortunately, is not a single vinyl release of the band appeared (except one song on the Kalte Sterne & Friss Deine Kultur compilations) and I find that quite strange because the band deserves more attention. Musically and lyrically they belong to the premier league and they kick the blues out of every couch potato. So this post here is a selfmade CD with almost all recordings. Meanwhile, the band exists no longer. What remains? Download!!!!

V/A - Bored Teenagers Vol.2 2001

16 tracks of pure, unadulterated British Punk Rock from the golden years of ‘77 - ‘82. This comp. delved ultra-deep into the archives to bring some of the best and rarest UK Punk singles ever, but also totally unreleased tracks by the likes of UXB, The Negatives, Knife Edge and Disorder making this one of the most essential items any Punk Rock fan could get his grubby little hands on. The makes usual put their heart and soul’s into this release - and once again both formats come with a great sixteen page booklet featuring liner notes written by the bands, pictures of the releases and ultra rare photos. "Sure, this could have come out years ago - we could have just bootlegged it and sent it out in a wraparound sleeve like all the rest of the money-hungry so called ‘fans’ out there. But we think the collectors deserve more - and we think the bands deserve more too - so we’re bringing this out 100% officially with the consent of all the bands involved. This is for the Punk connoisseur and the music fan alike - a blast from the past that still sounds fresh today. And ya wanna know the reeaaalllyyy cool thing?" You can imagine that this album was sold out quickly and this is not to say the quality on offer is poor, in fact on the contrary: the vast majority of songs here are excellent. Many rare tracks are showcased and this really is punk rock in its purest form: shoddily produced, home-made singles made by bored teenagers that still have a raw energy that encapsulates the very ethos of punk.

1.Air-Raid - DISORDER
2.Identity Parade - DISORDER
3.Crazy Today - UXB
4.Over The Wall - UXB
5.Society - THE THRUST
6.Fed Up - THE THRUST
7.I'm In Love - THE ZIPS
8.Don't Be Pushed Around - THE ZIPS
9.Stakeout - THE NEGATIVES
10.Love Is Not Real - THE NEGATIVES
11.We're From Bradford - THE NEGATIVES
12.Say You Will - KNIFE EDGE
13.Fighting In The Chapel - KNIFE EDGE

V/A - Donaustrand EP 1980

Today is National Day in Austria (the people with the strongly melancholic accent) and because I love my neighbors and I'm mentally with yours on this glorious day, hahaha... the best thing today is you are free from work (not this year) and you should spent a walk on the beautiful Donau or visit the whorehouse for a nice fuck or bawl old songs from the past, enjoy a coffee in one of these many charmin' coffeehouses, kill a cop...or take a little of your short time to stop here and found this hot four track punk & rock EP. 1000 copies were pressed and maybe today less unspectacular for our punk rock ears, is this EP, the first real-time document of networking scene of two Austrian cities. The concept was simple and good: Two bands from Vienna (The Vogue & Tom Pettings Hertzattacken) and two from Linz (Miss Molly's Favorites & Willi Warma) contributed this to noble blue vinyl pressed EP each a song with, of which one half in Vienna and the other was sold in Linz. The project was extremely successful - and "Donaustrand", which was the debut release of the afterwards not quite insignificant four groups here, was sold out quickly.

1.Streetcorner Hero - WILLI WARMA
2.The Hard Facts - VOGUE
3.Four Hearts For You - MISS MOLLY'S FAVOURITES
4.Tonight - TOM PETTINGS HERTZATTACKEN

MOTOS - Muevete EP 1982

A little history about the beginning of the spanish punk scene from wikipedia: "In Spain, the punk rock scene emerged in 1978, when the country had just emerged from forty years of fascist dictatorship under General Franco and after his death in 1975, the country went through a “volatile political period”, in which the country had to try to relearn democratic values and install a constitution. When punk emerged, it did not appropriate socialism as its goal; instead, it embraced “nihilism”, and focused on keeping the memories of past abuses alive, and accusing all of Spanish society of collaborating with the fascist regime. The early punk scene included a range of marginalized and outcast people, unemployed, leftists, anarchists, queens, dykes, poseurs, scroungers, and petty criminals." A lot of good bands start to play awesome dirty punkrock and also the Motos, they were more a power-pop-punk band, from Pamplona formed in the early 80's. This is their first EP with 4 melodic, catchy Songs. That's all info i had, maybe you know more.

RUDOLPH DIETRICH - Mutterfreuden 1981

"Don't Miss The Past" so the full album title. And Mutterfreuden is a power/punkrock album with beauty & goodness. And that can only be rock & roll. The two Swiss label Off Course Records and Another Swiss Label have been relevant to the image of Swiss and Punks impressed with good sound and professional cover design. They were also the first to be afforded the luxury of Maxi-Single-pressings. And the music was always melodic, which makes it even still listenable. Rudolph Dietrich (Liliput, Nasal Boys) writes undoubtedly good punk songs and demonstrates this impressive with this fuckin' Album. Truly a whole cool punk record.
