V/A - Happy Birthday, You Sweet Liar! 2025

I guess every one of you, dear followers, has experienced this. You think you know someone well, a lover, a friend, or some other confidant, and then one day everything changes. You are lied to for no reason by this person. And you clearly know it's a lie. Of course, this hurts immensely, and you ask yourself what the reason was? Self-protection, fear of consequences/conflicts, or social conformity/reputation in society? Or do people lie to get rid of someone, to throw away baggage... I don't know. In any case, you are left with ambivalence and have to make a decision whether you want to tolerate this person in your environment any longer or not even look at them again. They always say everyone deserves a second chance, but if you feel like you're being treated disrespectfully and the other person doesn't care at all, well, I'm for a cut, and a breakup is the logical consequence. There are certainly many views, thoughts, and opinions on this, so I came up with the idea of channeling my anger and dismay into music, and this Compilation is meant to help, or at least for the time being. Of course, you can always fall flat on your face, nothing is guaranteed, but when you're 100% being screwed, there's only one option left and I'm tired of crying after such ignorant people. Especially when they say of themselves, "I hate liars". - You see, they have no self-respect, only self-deception. Anyway, I'll think twice about who I'll give the next bouquet of roses.
Take Care!

COSMIC PSYCHOS - Blokes You Can Trust 1991

As I write this post I'm sitting here at the computer, drinking my third beer and listening to relaxed music that doesn't belong here, but I know this record by Australians Cosmic Psychos by heart, and you attentive followers know I dig these guys with their "arty kind of Punk noise" and for their third album, the band signed to Amphetamine Reptile Records for the American market. Unfortunately, they only gained limited recognition, but those who don't appreciate their music are just simply stupid morons in my eyes. Known for their droning, fuzzed-out bass and wah-wah guitar with repetitive lyrics, the Cosmic Psychos have a simple sound that works well in context and remained largely untouched since they formed in 1982. You will find excellent examples ☝ in the blog and I especially want to recommend the live slab to you: dynamic driving Punkrock like I love it which they continue with ten goodies on this album, no foot & ass stays still, I promise. The Cosmic Psychos are a fantastic combo, an essential part of the Melbourne scene and in general Punkrock music... believe me! And today soccer is finally starting again, life is superb (in some moments). ENJOY!!!!

COSMIC PSYCHOS - Slave To The Crave 1989

A long day at the fucking computer is coming to an end and I crown it with one of my favorite bands: the Cosmic Psychos and this twelve track CD was recorded @ the Palace/Melbourne in June 1989, released via Rattlesnake Records and who doesn't know this album: Grab it!! One of the best live albums all the time: a milestone/masterpiece/a orgasm and a damn whole effusion. The sound & the song selection plus the cover artwork are absolutely brilliant. The clean recording of the songs makes them so fresh & intensive that I can't sit still. Lead Me Astray, Can't Come In, Decadence, Rip & Dig, Back In Town + Lost Cause (to name a few) are KILLER and belong to the best punk songs I ever heard and who can sit still on his damn chair is dead. This release is a revelation. I wonder why I post this classic not earlier? Hmm... anyway, do you wanna dance and need some more music then you must, I repeat MUST!, click this orange fucking stud and get more fast, loud, delicious Aussie landmines; not more, not less!!! And now: Go on stage you three male top models and you enjoy the gig!

COSMIC PSYCHOS - s/t LP 1987

Brilliant debut record by the Cosmic Psychos on Mr. Spaceman records and I can bite my ass because I sell this album, GRRR. Well, shit happens. I have a little hangover, yesterday I had a fun evening with an enormous amount of Gin Tonic and sometimes I pour the stuff in me like water, haha... you only live once, right? - The Cosmics are like a successful evening with lots of fun, good friends, love and of course, alcohol. Also recommendable their second record Go The Hack with nine storm warningsI lie down again and calm my skull.

COSMIC PSYCHOS - Go The Hack 1989

A few hours left so an old post from my former Blog and Fuckin' Hell comes out with the second album by this awesome band from down under, I really love their sound: dirty, rough, simple, garagey punk rock & roll” that the band excelled creating. Cosmic Psychos is a punk trio which was formed in the late 80s. Originally, Bill Walsh and Peter Jones were playing in the band called Spring Plains, which broke up in 1985. That same year they invited Ross Knight to join the group and thus Cosmic Psychos were born. Robbie Watts replaced Peter Jones after the recording of the brilliant live Slave To The Grave album in 1990. After a long hiatusa, at the end of 2005, the Psychos went to the studio to record the new album "Off Ya Cruet!" with a new drummer Dean Muller that replaced Bill Walsh. After the shock about the tragic loss of Robbie Watts, it was an option to drop the brand "Cosmic Psychos", but Ross was overwhelmed by the grief and support of the fans, so he decided, with full support of Robbie's kids: "There's more beer to be drunk!" John Onya (from the Onyas) was chosen as the one to play the guitar as he has already been friend of the band for quite some time.
