Holladrio my dear friends, I'm back from my vacation (I hope you missed me a little) and before I give you a few impressions, and there were a hell of lots, I'll be back musically, as promised, with a Bang! Volume 3 of the Punk Territory and this is catchy as hell. Fifty-five short blasts of eleven US bands come here together and the tracks are from their first singles which are nowadays as rare like snow in the Sahara. Exact details are mentioned in the booklet but unfortunately not here and I save myself the call for good scans, unfortunately there is no feedback but fuck it. This compilation is again varied enough to hold the interest of punk afficiondos from all eras and kicks the shit totally out of you, so welcome Honey!

N.O.T.A. - Toy Soldiers EP 1984

N.O.T.A. (None Of The Above) was a fantastic hardcore band in the early '80s that has changed its line-up over the years. The band has disbanded in 1987 already, but has reformed in 1993 and finally broke up in 2000. This EP is their second one, released on Rabid Cat Records and is one of the most posted record in blogland I think. Yesterday I have listen after a long time to this record and it blows me once again. This is pure Killer stuff!! They mix the power of hardcore with the tunefulness of punk rock. Also recommended is their eponymous LP from 1985 with nineteen songs. I will close this Input with a review that says all: "This second NOTA EP follows hard on the heels of Moscow. Four of these five songs display the band's trademarks, tight thrash power, choice choruses, and politicized themes. The title track is a slower, melodic number in the SLF mold that shows an expansion of their musical horizons, without stylistic regression. A fine release that would have had more impact if it was released earlier." - Jeff Bale (Maximum Rocknroll #17, September 1984) - Now, if someone asks you 'Do you know N.O.T.A.?' you can answer right now 'Yeah!, fuckin' great band!' - You will find more than one EP in this file so pick it up honey!

N.O.T.A. - s/t LP 1985

Hot Shit! You thought their past records were great, well here’s nineteen tracks that are rockin’, thrashin’, imaginative, and catchy. The slower songs have a catchy early ’77 Pop-Punk sound, and the thrash just rips. A good mix that shows that NOTA are expanding their boundaries and coming of age as a style to US Hardcore. (Ruth Schwartz, MRR #28 • September 1985) We're talking about N.O.T.A. (None Of The Above) from Tulsa/Oklahoma, a fantastic four piece that has changed its line-up over the years. On this brilliant slab the band consisted of Jeff (vocals/guitar), Russell (guitars), Bruce (bass), Bob (drums) and this is their first album on Rabid Cat Records with nineteen smasher, recorded 1979-1985, and all mercilessly fantastic. During their on-again-off-again existence they released three 7Inches and three full albums. They disbanded in 1987, but reformed in 1993 and finally broke up in 2000. Top record and I have to stop now because I must recovering from a crappy bike crash.

I guess every one of you dear followers has experienced this. I suspect each of you, dear followers, has experienced this before. You think you know someone well, a lover, a friend, or some other confidant, and then one day everything changes. You are lied to for no reason by this person. And you clearly know it's a lie. Of course, this hurts immensely, and you ask yourself what the reason was? Self-protection, fear of consequences/conflicts, or social conformity/reputation in society? Or do people lie to get rid of someone, to throw away baggage... I don't know. In any case, you are left with ambivalence and have to make a decision whether you want to tolerate this person in your environment any longer or not even look at them again. They always say everyone deserves a second chance, but if you feel like you're being treated disrespectfully and the other person doesn't care at all, well, I'm for a cut, and a breakup is the logical consequence. There are certainly many views, thoughts, and opinions on this, so I came up with the idea of channeling my anger and dismay into music, and this Compilation is meant to help, or at least for the time being. Of course, you can always fall flat on your face, nothing is guaranteed, but when you're 100% being screwed, there's only one option left and I'm tired of crying after such ignorant people. Anyway, I'll think twice about who I'll give the next bouquet of roses to.
