BRYGADA KRYZYS - s/t LP 1982

Brygada Kryzys (Crisis Brigade) or B.K. is one of the most important and influential Polish punk/rock reggae bands. The band was founded in 1981 by two well-known guitarist/vocalists from Warsaw, Robert Brylewski (formerly of the band Kryzys) and Tomasz Lipinski (from Tilt). This is the first album and the recordings were made between February and April 1982 in a studio in Warsaw. The Album is considered as the first officially record in Poland (....) with punk rock and new wave music. Appeared in the circulation of about 150.000 copies. It's understood that part of it has been directed to sell and has appeal because of the bold work of the team in the face of contemporary socio-political situation. Some critics, however, undermine the claim of milling of effort. The crisis in the music media poll for the best Polish post-war record came in second place. In March 1982 the recording company “Tonpress” opens a new studio in Warsaw’s Wawrzyszew district and begins looking for a band to test it. BK manager, Jacek Olechowski, suggests the group. Over a few days several songs were recorded and “Tonpress”, with hesitation, agrees to publish the record. The result is this awesome dark punk/wave record with nine melancholic punky tunes and I listen while I post this to Love A (the German punk band this hour, check their songs on youtube or whatever). - I'm in a very drunken constitution yet and all this info it stolen from fuckipedia. Anyway, this is a glorious record.

DE PRESS - Block To Block 1981

De Press is a Polish-Norwegian new wave band founded in Oslo in 1980. They were among the leading Norwegian new wave bands, and also gained a following in Poland. The original De Press had the following line-up: Andrej Nebb (Andrzej Dziubek) - vocals & bass, Jørn Christensen - guitar, Ola Snortheim - drums & percussion and the debut album Block to Block was one of the most influential Norwegian rock releases in the early 80's (alongside The Aller Værste's Materialtretthet). With their unmistakeable blend of typical early 80's dark new wave rock and Eastern European influences (complete with Polish refugee Andrej Nebb's often unintelligble Norwegian-English-Polish lyrics), they have remained an oft-referenced band in Norwegian rock. Original pressings of their early work fetch high prices on the second hand market, and although none of their subsequent album releases matched their debut in terms of acclaim and popularity, Block to Block is consistenly rated high on "best Norwegian albums of all time" lists and is nowadays a true classic punk/wave album. The original De Press disbanded in 1981, but also recorded a second album in 1982 called Product. They reunited in 1991. By 1995, Nebb was the only remaining original member. With various line-ups, Nebb's De Press still tour and release records in Poland.

V/A - Best Perfumes Of The Revolution 7'' 1982

So much new stuff and it's time to bring something from those among to light. I begin with this little split 7inch. Released via the French label Blitzkrieg Records and just found on the A-side a crazy Chinese band to which I can't say any words, except that they celebrate here the classic Anarchy in the UK (also on Bloodstains Across The World) herein a totally crazy version, is this still singing or what?? The mic-man is 100% wacky, how else goes it, damn cool! The flip is a teamwork of two Polish bands, Kryzys and Deadlock, and their 'I'm On The Top' is a nice 4:22 stomper. Which idea stands behind this small piece of plastic remains only to guess, sure is both goodies are absolutely first class and you can see them on any good compilation.

RAMZES & THE HOOLIGANS - Poland/Alkoholand EP 1994

One more rare item from the glorious 333 x Up & Down series and does a good job. Ramzes & The Hooligans are Polish Oi!/Punk group from Rydultau. Despite a few concerts, they became famous with simple, often controversial, yet humorous texts concerning matters that they hurting every day Polish society. The band does not consider itself bound to any ideology, and their texts can be found even mockery of joy after the death of Adolf Hitler, and assigning him to the evil world. The band almost broke up after the departure of vocalist Ramzes to Germany after 1989 (the mocking words of the song Easter fall Together we'll go to the church of the Lord Jesus to kiss, we all really happy that he is an idiot crucified for us, which apparently had flee the country), however, and there he played a few gigs and released the album 'We Are Back', which is the German release of A Clockwork Orange. Dirty UK '77 fashioned bootboy-streetpunk!

MOSKWA - s/t LP 1989

Moskwa is a Polish punk-rock band and were formed in 1983 in the dirty, covered with smoke of the factory chimneys Polish town Lodz, a big legend of Polish underground, one of the most original and charismatic bands of the Eastern-Europe punkrock scene. Moskwa plays, as a newcomer, at the Rock Music Festival Jarocin (the biggest festival in Poland at that time). The band had an enthusiastic welcome and overnight became an insider tip in the Polish independent scene. After playin' lots of festivals they recorded their first LP and in March 1989, two years after being recorded, it cames out! Fast, loud & violent style and it's still a classic one. I heard the first Moskwa tunes on the Smelling Just Another Bad Breath Compilation which was released via Double A Records in 1986. So this post is the CD-Release from 2002 with tons of bonus cuts from their early works. So enjoy all 28 classic pearls.

TILT - Runął Już Ostatni Mur EP 1985

Tilt is a Polish wave/punk/rock band and regarded as one of the first punk bands in Poland. Founded in Warsaw in 1979 they've been existing with several breaks until now. This is their first release (Already Collapsed Last Wall) with 3 numbers. Special mention here that the saxophone is an integral part in all songs and it is my opinion here a good idea. I do not know a lot of punk bands that used at that time such a Instrument. All sung in Polish which give the songs a special charm. A very good first output and their best one. The following albums are too much poppy to me. Check it out.

V/A - Illegal By Choice EP 2011

Shit, it's so fuckin' cold and I have a big big hangover, bbrrrrrrrr.... - so the right time to stay at home and post some awesome records. Next one is created in collaboration with Punk Illegal and the No one is Illegal Network (Ingen människa är illegal) and this ear-splitting benefit compilation for hidden refugees comes out by De:Nihil Records and you should be warned! 6 Bands, three countries are here on it and all tracks are previously unreleased. All loud as hell and with the aim to raise as much money as possible to the No one is Illegal Network and their work for a world without borders. Well, I have a different opinion about it.... all songs are great songs and a very well done record.

1.Trapped - VICTIMS
2.Du Kan Inte Vinna - KVOTERINGEN
3.Odio - DEMENZIA KOLEKTIVA
4.Totuus Esiin - MEANWHILE
5.Kolejny Kruchy Rozejm - ALERT! ALERT!
6.Han Gav Upp Alltihopa - ASTA KASK

- Huge Thx to Fredrik -
