LOS NIKIS - La Amenaza Amarilla EP 1981 + Sangre En El Museo De Cera EP 1982

Los Nikis (The Polo Shirts) was a Spanish pop-punk group of the 80's that were associated with la Movida. They come with songs that feature very simple music and humorous lyrics. Founded 1979 in a suburbia from Algete which lies in the comarca de Alcalá in the autonomous community of the Community of Madrid. They are known as "The Ramones Of Algete". Los Nikis were capable to create a good collection of tunes with just four chords and seven notes. Two brothers from the drummer Rafa Cabello created Discos Lollipop label and, logically, Los Nikis released on this label some signature songs from their career. In 1983, Rafa Cabello leaves the band and entered Johnny Canut, Nacho Canut's brother, ex-"Dinarama". In 1985 they signed for 3 Cipreses/DRO and released three albums before they split-up in 1989. In the nineties they recorded a new album, "Más De Lo Mismo", that closes the band's history. Nowadays, only Joaquín Rodríguez is active as part of "Los Acusicas".

V/A - El Pecado Original 1986

Accidentally found on my hard drive this superb compilation of another explicit example of Madrid bands and this record is a rare item and I listen now a second time to this. The whole was released via Discos Radioactivos Organizados (DRO), one of the first Spanish independent labels, and is without a doubt simply genial. A healthy mixture of post-punk, synth pop and new wave rush herein and most of the songs had not been published previously. This is all you have to know... I think, I hit myself in bed, sleep enters again.

LOS NIKIS - Olaf El Vikingo 7'' 1985

The next 7Inch is from the Los Nikis and they were founded in the suburbia from Madrid and it's certainly warmer there than in fucking Germany. This is their fourth single on 3 Cipreses and musicians were Emilio (vocals), Arturo (guitars), Joaquín (bass), Johnny (drums) and this goodie was also released as 12Inch with two more numbers. Two playfully melodic songs we can listen on this piece of wax and I'm sure you like them. That's enough for now, I feel weak and exhausted and have to go back to bed and catch up some sleep. V/A - Busca En La Basura!! #3 Punk Iberico (1980-83)

Today is again Sunday and I have only this one for regeneration. So I use my time today for this Tape compilation which was released anno 1993 via Bazofia 'Zine and its full with great spanish punk stuff, some bands are known others not. A decent song selection and when you love the Iberian style like me you will not be disappointed. No idea but I'm currently in this country, I wanna move to the sun, I hate this cold season...maybe over Christmas, let's see. Make something beautiful today and enjoy sixty minutes of classics!
