KRYPTON TUNES - Coming To See You 7'' 1978

Another lost nugget now by the Krypton Tunes, a four piece from Welsh and lasted from 1977 to 1979 and in this short activity they managed to release three singles. The band consisted of John (vocals/guitar), January (guitar), Dave (bass) and Bob (drums) and in 1978 they released two superb 7Inches, this one on Black And Red Records and the Limited Vision on Lightning Records. By the release of their third and last record Extended Play EP in 1979, the line-up changed quite radically, only John remained from the original members. John Bowen played bass, Brian drummed, and Sue Marsden was responsible for the synthesizer. Shortly after that the band broke up. Retro Records released a CD-R with all three 7inches but nodody knows when this came across. What remains: two nice mid-tempo tracks that probably served as a role model for the British Punk invasion that followed.

V/A - Young Raw Sounds UK 1996

Lightning Records carved their name into punk history with the release of some of the most collectable punk singles to be released in the late 70's. And all these recordings here are quite special and for my taste there are no dropouts. This LP is subtitled as Vol.1 but i'd never seen Vol.2...hmmm.... maybe you have this comp and send me a copie??? Zeus Records put this pearl out in 1996 and they make this fine. To every band/song is much info inside and the vinyl was pressed in bold red in a limited edition of 1500 copies. What more can be said? You might know the bands as well and if not then you should waste no time to discover something new. I think it's always nice when some people rummage in the punk archives to find rarities or cool stuff and then releasing records like these. And then you might notice what a great time that was.

V/A - Killed By Death #24 1999

If you're looking for more old punk stuff then you lucky, your search stops here. After a bit of a breather in the swarm of Killed By Death comps issued, this one comes as a breath of fresh air. A good mix of never-before comped bands and uncomped songs by bands we all know and love, mostly here from Europe & the USA, consistently a further essential worthwhile punk compilation. After the first listening by this piece of vinyl I felt every song would go over 3 minutes and that's quite unusual for a KBD sampler but what makes this a special one. At this stage of the compilation game (mid 1999) it would be near impossible to put out an LP of mostly unknown killer material from 1977-1981. There's still some number of LP's worth of material that could (and likely will) be released and this record will compare well to most anything else to follow.
