The 300th post meanwhile and this is honored with a completely unknown band from the north of our beautiful republic. Specifically, founded in Grossenkneten (home of Trio) in the mid 80s these five guys come together to contribute their part in the german punk history with their selfmade mini 12'', 1000 hand-numbered copies were pressed with eight wild intensive pieces. First nothing special, but here is the saxophone excellent integrated and gives the sound more power and melody (for example in 'Herbst'). Lyrically, it's usually personally and the singer brings the anger and despair right to the point over. Exactly how I like it. Musically a perfect mix from quick short pieces with classic mid-tempo songs. Absolutely worth mentioning the superior elaborate artwork which comes in a poster format and is equipped with all infos, lyrics and cool paintings. Overall, a fantastic record where everything fits. See for yourself!

V/A - Schiavi Nella Città Più Libera Del Mondo EP 1982
This little compilation was originally released on Attack Punk Records and is full with classic hardcore/punk from rather unknown bands. All bands were from Bologna and this record starts with two typical crackers, followed by Bacteria's chaotic tracks, especially the second one is a confused noise potpurri, brilliant. The b-side offers the only band which has a few songs made on various compilations, the most famous is probably the P.E.A.C.E. double album. Musically they are extremely trashy and they hold the high standard of this Plate. Last but not least Stalag 17 with two cool mid-tempo numbers, they released in 1983 a split with Irah also on Attack Punk Records. Overall, a decent thing and I give a few minus points for the weak sound.

DEFIANT POSE - After The Bang 7'' 1981
The last Groucho Marxist release came in 1981, a double-header from Defiant Pose. Defiant Pose are probably the best known of the original Paisley punk bands. The band formed in Paisley, Scotland 1979 as a 5-piece, Chad (vocals), Alan (guitar), John (guitar), Crawfy (bass), and Callum (drums) and continued playing with a number of lineup changes until 1987 and they started as a five-piece punky mod band. They recorded one track for the 'Ha-Ha Funny Polis' EP called 'Fight' and released this double A sided single. Live, they never failed to entertain and consistently played to a full house. Both tracks are quite brilliant, nice tempo and very melodic in every way. Cool Stuff!!
DIE RADIERER - Angriff Auf's Schlaraffenland EP 1980
A quick look at the D-punk section and here it is. Released on the newly formed Hamburg Zick Zack label in 1980 this record come along with four minimalistic oblique goodies and for me are the Radierer one of the better ZickZack bands, the label is known for a lot of scrap music I think and I can't understand why a lot of people spent a lot of cash for their releases... Na scheiß was drauf! Die Radierer from Limburg play indeed no backwoods redneck punk, but oblique avantgarde music full dadaist subversive humor like a football team that comes from the province and then suggests the domestic stars. Musically they already belong to the label but they different from the most because their music is more catchy and more melodic. This band knows exactly what they doing: comics, cuteness, silliness and drastic stylistic devices and are expressions of a deliberately chosen language of art. With Angriff Auf's Schlaraffenland they made definitely a small cult hit and is always in their live repertoire on the list. They toured in 2012 through Germany and maybe new recordings will follow.

MINX - Collection 1985
A kickass swedish punkrock band are Minx from Eskilstuna and they released two 7 inches. Both records are brilliant and this collection here contains further four demo tracks which were recorded in 1985 and two cuts as The Kollo Kids which were from 1982. Sound quality is excellent - They played around their home area, Stockholm and Göteborg and split in 1986. Classic KBD stuff!!!

ASTA KASK - Aldrig En 1986
Asta Kask is a Swedish punk band from Töreboda. In 1978 the band were founded by Micke Blomqvist (vocals and guitar), Pelle Karlsson, Uffe Karlsson and Stefan Hovbjer under the name X-Tas and later renamed Asta Kask. This band recorded their first EP in 1981 and broke up shortly thereafter. After a few line-up changes they released up to 1986 three EP's, a mini-LP, a live record and a studio LP. Asta Kask never planned to record a full length album, but they did it and it called "Aldrig En" (never a LP). Then they split up and played in other bands like Strebers or Cosa Nostra. Three years later Asta Kask came back because all four had fun making music together. 1993 the band split up again. Ten years later, re-reunion and the result is the second album "En För Alla, Ingen För Nan" which came out in 2006. They're still active and the third album "Handen På Hjärtat" is a fuckin' blast like this debut record here. Good swedish melodic power punkrock.
V/A - Cheap & Nasty #1 1999
"Welcome to the Cheap & Nasty World of Punk Rock. Although not so cheap anymore; but still nasty!" And Yes Alf, you're right. This unofficial release was pressed on Canned Maggot Records in a hand numbered edition of 600 copies and contains seven rare UK punk singles from 1977 - 1982. Very nice artwork with detailed liner notes to every band on the back cover. A beautiful artwork here, compared to the KBD compilations which sometimes coming carelessly out, but I will not complain, each of these LPs are important. There are many comps with rare UK punk available and this is another example how great & big the early British punk wave was. Only hits here and I give my highest rating. Did't see Volume 2 of this, maybe it's still in work. Thanks for this juwel and keep up the good work!

DOC-OI - This Is Straight Hate EP 1985
Japanese bands are less known in my area, but mostly their top quality catapulted them far above in the Oi!/Punk League. Excellent opportunity to make even familiar with the current Nippon scene. Second EP by this japanese combo from Saitama. As their name suggests, this is indeed Oi music, and decent at that. It's got all the ingredients--catchy tunes, choruses, etc. Lyrics are in English and are anti-authoritarian. These guys are out of uniform -- all spikey heads. Five goodies, well done & fine production from Japan.
BVD - Country Of Liberty EP 1980
One more goodie from my hard drive and when I play a record three times in a row then it's a must here. This hard to find EP was released on No Level Products and about the band from Den Haag is not much known. Musically here classic Dutch punk with a hard-edged sound and radical politics to match. The singer is very nice pissed and the rest is nice dirty. What BVD means is unknown but this is not important. If you had a crappy day then is this the right record to push yourself up again. Compilations: I'm Sure We're Gonna Make It, Punkrock From Holland and Feel Lucky Skunk?! (in the Blog), all three essential - Howdy!!!

DUNCAN REDMONDS - Bubble & Squeak 2009
Original front runner Duncan Redmonds of Snuff / The Toy Dolls / Billy No Mates is releasing his solo project "Bubble & Squeak" on World Records in 2009. This 22 song compilation features the likes of Snuff, NoFX, Leatherface, Hardskin, NoMeansNo, Guns N Wankers and MORE! "Recorded at many places and in front rooms, back rooms, kitchens, office rooms and the odd studio. Because of this the recordings are sometimes lo-fi but the important thing was to catch the songs any way possible. The project was started in 2004 by handing out a load of riffs to people met over the years touring and playing with Snuff and asking them to add their ideas to them. Then finished in 2008 when Jools picked up his bass and shouted a few short sharp profanities. Sometimes it was the other way around and riffs were offered, sometimes melodies were suggested and a lyric fitted to it, sometimes old songs were reworked and sometimes new songs jammed out, all topped off with a Donovan cover and a mix by Nick Philpin in Kilburn NW London." (Duncan Redmonds) - Rocks perfectly!
