V/A - La Historia Del Punk En Uruguay 1983-2001

This compilation gives a little overview of the punk scene from Uruguay. A small country in the heart of South America. Sure I cannot say a lot because my knowledge about Uru-Punk is quite bad and all these bands sounds very unknown to me, maybe you too. I know more about the dark side of the moon, haha....further I did not know any other publications by them but this sampler is a pearl. Here we have a decent mix of fast Hardcore, dirty rock'n'roll and melodic punk rock that stuck in my both ears and it must no need to hide. I think the spanish band-names are the longest... Not all of these recordings hava a top sound quality but it will give you a good feeling for the way we are livin'.

V/A - København I Ruiner 2x7'' 2003

Here's a brilliant review about this awesome double 7'' compilation from systemphobia and I like to use these words because it describes the music here perfect and I agree with that. "If you consider yourself a punk you should have the following record. Kick 'n Punch isn't just another label, it released of the best records of the early 21st century and managed to put Denmark firmly back on the punk map. This double EP gives a nice cross section of what bands the label has signed throughout the years: Amdi Petersen Armé, the almighty Gorilla Angreb, Uro, No Hope For The Kids, Asbest, Paragraph 119 to name a few. Most stuff is straight forward punk/hardcore that brings back to mind the glorious days of the euro punk scene. Sadly the label is no longer around but one of the guys who ran the label continued as Hjernespind Records. They release awesome stuff, check 'm out." So now I can only urge you to download this essential stuff.

V/A - 16 Guys Against The World EP 1990

Sometimes I really wonder why I'm doin' all this here? At first, it has been fun but now I realize the only most downloads are the bands which was known and I don't know what should I think about that. Sure, you can take what you want and I don't care, but it scares me a little. This is intolerant to the bands which have also the effort & play a fewer gigs (perhaps in front of 50 or 100 people) and enlarge the scene with their refreshing style. But maybe that's just so and that's it. - Why I am use such a long melodramatic introduction is simple: This EP Sampler with four bands I've already posted 6 years ago at DU and to date it was used 60 times. Too bad, because there are four gifted melodic punk songs from 4 sympathetic bands and I want to put this little gem with the cool title again into your hearts. It is worthwhile and fits in any home-made CD sampler.

1.Just My Luck - BROKEN TOYS
2.Look & Watch - DOCTOR PARANOISE
3.Letzte Chance - CAREFREE
4.Addiction - GULAG

V/A - YU Punk 1978-1982 Vol.1

Another superb re-post from my old Blog and can't say much about this release, because it's a self-made compilation or something like that, but who cares. The fact is many of the songs appeared already on the Bloodstains Across Yugoslavia and the terrific Novi Punk Val compilation album from 1981. The creme de la creme of the yugoslavian punk rock scene is represented here, some songs probably only here but that I don't know exactly. In any case, this is a damn horny compilation and a big fat thanks to the makers who searched for all that stuff and shared with us. Yugoslavian punkrock kicks strong ass.

V/A - Bring Back The Sun! [Special] 2009

This is a re-post from December 2013, the month were all the horror begins. Sincere thanks to all who spoke out to me Your condolences, love and sympathy, words help not really now but they give strength and new confidence. Heavy days I'm still currently going through and music helps a lot in every way... slowly, very slowly I'm in phase 2 but to wake up alone is still unbearable, no appetite and always thinking of Her.... Life is cruel sometimes!

This compilation We both made together after our Tenerife holiday in 2009. There We had only a CD by the Gaslight Anthem, which was forgotten by the predecessor in the CD player. We wanted to change that and so this CD was compiled. This soundtrack was then always on the following holidays on board and ran down & up. Here are some of Our favorite bands and I changed a few songs from the original for this post with songs which She heard lately very much. For me, a beautiful reminder of carefree days and perhaps You will find them in Your next vacation. If here's the link dead no re-upp followed

V/A - Rokk Í Reykjavík 2LP 1982

Rokk í Reykjavík was the soundtrack to the Icelandic TV documentary directed by Friðrik Þór Friðriksson during 1981-82 winter and released in 1982. The soundtrack, which was released in April 1982 as a double LP released through Hugrenningur, features the performances of several Icelandic bands of the post punk/New Wave scene. Bands such as Þeyr, Tappi Tíkarrass (a band led by singer Björk), Egó, Purrkur Pillnikk (with Einar Örn Benediktsson as the front-man), among others, were considered some of the most important bands at the moment, exclusively live material. V/A - Punk Que? Punk 1983

Often overlooked by English speaking Countries' record collectors, the Spanish early Punk Rock scene (1979-1983) was one of the most diverse, brightest & authentic of the Punk era in Europe. These bands were aggressive & melodic at the same time, and more influenced by the British scene than by their American counterparts. The fact that they almost all sing in Spanish, made these bands remain in obscurity everywhere, but Spain and Latin America. Punk Que? Punk is for specialized interests -- listeners who like Latin punk and Latin punk can be as powerful as it's English forefather, but it can also can be a little stylized and formulaic. For those interested in the genre, this comp is a good starting place.

V/A - Revenge Of The Kamikaze Stegosaurus From Outerspace! 1988

I found a good review for you to make this international HC/Punk compilation tasty, so I can save other words: 'An often overlooked compiliation from the 1980's with some real gems on it. Most bands on here are from New Hampshire and the greater Boston area of Massachusetts, and some of those bands including XYZ, Psycho, Cancerous Growth, and possibly others shared members. The best tracks on here come from Florida's legendary No Fraud, XYZ, The Scam, and the best track comes from The Stain, who do a crazy high pitched vocaled, anti surfer skateboarding song. By the time this comp LP came out, some of the more well known bands on it such as Wretched and Ripchord (who were trying out the clean vocal approach at this time) had peaked. The Mentors contributed a live version of one of their pattented raunchy tunes and the Freeze contributed their mediocre at best, "Refrigerator Heaven" track which had previously appeared on the "Unsafe At Any Speed" comp EP put out by Modern Method in 1984. GG Allin throws on a piece of racist trash that should never have been allowed on the album in the first place. Also of note is that when this comp came out all songs on it were either unreleased or re-recorded. Overall, a pretty good comp that is worth it for the Stain song alone.'

1.L.I.F.E. - NO FRAUD
2.La Tua Morte Non Aspetta - WRETCHED
3.Refuse To Sign - XYZ
4.Look For Someone - RISE
5.18 - P.T.L. KLUB

V/A - Dokumentti Todellisuudesta 1989

Released on SHJ Records, this is the second record by this Finnish label and included is the Ulo 29B fanzine with detailed information about all the bands. The A-side belongs to the Finnish hosts and is equipped with relative unknown bands but indulge the typical Finnish punk rock, ranging from melodic to hardcore, a perfect mix. The B-side is reserved for the rest of the world and here we meet already well-known bands such as Powerage or Troublemakers. Especially the Japanese Fuck Geez bash out a classic here and I think I have another EP on my hard drive if you should be interested. All in all a cool record with no failures and massive unknown stuff.

V/A - Rip Shit Or Bust! 12'' 1983

A fine little 12inch from Kiwi territory with six guns on it, released via Ripper Records. A small selection of songs that have already been released as singles and today are rare and expensive. The Instigators track stands a bit out here: perfect driving mid-tempo punk with female vocals and saxophone (this is more in the background) and good lyrics, rulez like hell. Overall a great little compilation which brings fifteen minutes of joy!
