Weekend and I want to see who is allowed to enter this theater on those two days. Besides, there's a bit of housework to do, laundry, dusting, cooking and tonight's DFB Cup final and I also have to answer a few emails, but nobody cares about that anyway, hahahaha..... well, let's head west and visit Belgium and there we'll find a band that nobody knows, this is a self released and lone 7Inch by a four piece called Hell and they consisted of Alan (vocals/lead guitar), Jeremy (guitar), Yves (bass), Othax (drums) and 200 copies of this rare record exist, and that's where my infos end, but musically it's more in the direction of late Seventies Rock with a light dose of Punk and that's reason to grab this slab out and what's interesting is that the A-side is a quiet and nice love song and the flip is more an loud-beat song, in the sixties it was the other way around. I like both songs because they have catchy melodies and an energetic rhythm and a full-length would certainly be a sought after rarity today. Superb Stuff!

THE SCABS - s/t EP 1979
Today's post is more of a mix-up, and I won't go into it in detail. Those who are informed know what I mean, and everyone else doesn't need to know. First of all, a bit of info from the brilliant Punk77 site since I'm feeling a bit lazy right now: The Scabs were five Exeter University students and consisted of James (vocals), John (guitar/organ), Steve (bass), Patrick (drums), Simon (saxophone) and their sole record was released via Clubland Records (their own label) and containing all the ingredients needed to make a minor Punk classic; tinny guitars, cheap keyboards and over the top sneering vocals. Recorded in nearly two hours the songs are fast and fun and have been constantly bootlegged over the years on various Killed By Death Compilations. Two pressings of a thousand each. The first in a blue sleeve, the second in red and they resorted to selling copies to their fellow students at the school cafe. After the Scabs split, a couple of members moved onto the more new wave orientated M5s. Drummer Patrick remained active on the Exeter Punk scene, promoting shows throughout the 80’s before becoming a partner in Exeter live venue The Cavern Club. WRECKING CREW - Balance Of Terror 1989
Wrecking Crew were Boston Hardcore’s that is often credited with putting Boston Hardcore back on the map and was part of the Straight Edge scene there. Founded 1987 during the Boston HardcorePunk era, when most of the older bands like SS Decontrol, DYS, and Jerry's Kids had disbanded, by members who had not yet made a musical impact and the initial line-up included Glenn (vocals), John & Ralph (guitars), Keith (bass), and E.K. (drums), who was quickly replaced by Taras. In contrast to the aforementioned bands, they chose a more metal-oriented style. Their inspirations included Agnostic Front, Discharge, Broken Bones, and Battalion Of Saints. The band's first performance was on May 27, 1987, opening for Corrosion Of Conformity. After further shows in Boston, they entered the studio in January 1988 and recorded a total of eight songs, four of which were released as 7Inch on Mark MacKaye's (Slapshot) label Vortex in an edition of 1000 copies. At one of the shows, the band met John Bello of Hawker Records, who offered them a recording contract, and their debut album, Balance Of Terror, was released shortly thereafter. The band recorded live tracks at CBGB’s for the Compilation Free For All and two additional songs for the Thrasher magazine Noise Forest - SR7 sampler. The band then embarked on their first (and only) US tour, which was not very successful. After the tour, Wrecking Crew attempted to record material for a new album but Hawker went bankrupt. The recordings at Synchro Studios were recorded as a demo in 1991 and later released on the 1987–1991 Compilation. They were able to negotiate a recording contract with Maze Records, but this label also ended their collaboration shortly thereafter. So in 1994, the band finally disbanded. Playing along side peers such as Agnostic Front, Sick Of It All, Cro-Mags, Slapshot and many more, Wrecking Crew was a Hardcore/Metal Crossover style band that collapsed upon themselves before breaking up. GYLLENE DIVOR - Ni Har Ingen Tunnelbana EP 1981
Rare EP by this five piece from Stockholm called Gyllene Divor and they founded circa 1980 by Anders (vocals/bass), Claes & Måns (guitars), Håkan (piano/vocals), Bosse (drums) and this three song record was released via CTR in a small edition I think. I don't have any information about the band, but the EP is an excellent example of typical Swedish pop from the early Eighties. The songs are catchy and have a positive vibe that reflects the spirit of that era, with clear melodies and a fresh mix of a light PowerPop sound. Not found anywhere on Compilations and the 7Inch seems to be very sought after these days. Feels good after a long hard day at work.

DECRY - Symptoms Of Hate EP 1984
Today a small musical highlight from the west coast of the USA, more precisely from California and Decry have produced two albums and three 7Inches (the last from 2020) in the glorious Hardcore years. This one was recorded in November 1983 and the five song cracker was the debut piece for Decry, founded in the early eighties by Farrel (voice), Andrew (guitars), Tod (bass), Rodney (drums). First pressing. Issued in various color covers. Two different lyric insert sheets exist. First issue was the collage photo insert w/ lyrics on back (most issued). A second insert was created when the first ran out with a single live photo of Farel. Lyrics on reverse have a shadow from the cut and paste (least issued). A review: “A proficient debut EP from this LA band. The lyrics are thoughtful, the production is good, and the delivery is fast, but they tend to reduce the songs to a formula by throwing in similar breaks and changes of tempo that confuse me. Although they show potential, it needs to be developed. Not bad.” (Ruth Schwartz, MRR #12 • March 1984) The guys are obviously still active, touring here and there and still firing their peppy sound among the people.

SNUFF - Not Listening EP 1989
Debut EP by this three piece from London which were founded 1986 and the original line-up consisted of Duncan (vocals/drums), Simon (guitar/vocals) and Andy (bass). Snuff signed to the Workers Playtime label and their first release was this great EP, which received regular airplay from BBC Radio 1 Disc Jockey John Peel, and reached number nine in the UK Independent Chart. They characterized by its catchy sound and humorous, often ironic satirical lyrics (mostly socially critical and address current social issues, but are also presented with a wink) and is known for its melodic Punkrock, combining fast, energetic rhythms with brilliant melodies and multi-part vocals, the band has evolved over the years, experimenting with new styles that aren't always well-received, but remain true to its roots. Snuff released their debut album in 1988 to critical acclaim. Numerous albums and singles have followed, making them one of the most prolific combos, blessed with energy & creativity, all of which underscore their distinctive style. They are also known for their energetic live performances and they toured various countries and is an integral part of the European underground scene. Their music has influenced many other bands, and they are considered "Pioneers" of melodic Punkrock. A distinctive feature of Snuff is the multi-part vocals that can be heard in many of their songs. This gives their sound a special dynamic and sets them apart from others. Snuff are still active, and their influence can be felt in the music of many contemporary Punkbands.. yeah, they leave a lasting mark with their distinctive style and energetic music and with a career spanning several decades, they remain a significant player in the music landscape and is cherished by fans/critics alike.

V/A - Get Lost In Vinyl 2025
So friends of good taste, as announced a few days ago, now a new wdthtc Compilation (WDM Records 015). First, I have to tell you that I chose a different title for the story because I'm currently having trouble getting along with a loved one. I want to call it Heaven & Hell, because that describes the situation perfectly. But then I found this amazing cover, and I changed my mind. I asked myself, "Why all this?" Oh, and before I lose myself in endless dimensions again, all I can say is: people are crap! This sounds very metaphysical, but I can't help it. I always have experiences with people like this and fall in love with them. Is it because I'm not a normal guy? Or am I just unlucky? - It remains difficult. To hell with all the negative thoughts, they only disturb and paralyze you. On this nice and likeable CD with thirty catchy dilettantes you have enough freedom to interpret the whole thing yourself and maybe even give it to your loved one. That's what this Compilation was conceived and made for, and who knows what else... I've skipped the thank yous this time, there's no real reason but I just didn't feel like it. And now to the OrangeBeach for a nice beer by the water. Enjoy!

UK DECAY & PNEUMANIA - Split EP 1979
May, as the saying goes, brings new life to everything. Whether that actually happens is another question. But it's nice not to be goin' robotic on this first day of this wonderful month and let’s start the first record, a fine litte EP on Plastic Records with two combos and it's the first vinyl release by these both. Info: Following a brief stint as the Resistors, the Luton based UK Decay was formed in the winter of 1978 and consisted of Abbo (vocals/guitar), Martyn (bass), Steve (drums) and they released several 7Inches and an LP for Fresh Records, before forming their own label. Both of their songs are captivating due to their dark atmosphere and didn't sound like the typical British Punk sound, which is quite unusual considering that at the end of the Seventies a lot of music was played fast and hard. That's the reason why UK Decay are one of the original bands to cross over from Punk to what was then becoming called "Gothic", in the early '78 London scene. Their last studio recording was an EP titled Rising From The Dread, recorded in 1982 on Corpus Christi, a Crass label. A posthumous release, "A Night For Celebration", which was a live recording of the very last show (Klub Foot, Hammersmith, Dec 1982) came out on cassette in early 1983. After a long hiatus, they released their last EP in 2014 and I guess they continue to tour here and there in England. - Pneumania were Elaine (vocals), Pete (guitar), Steve The Voice (bass) Dave (drums) and they have only made these two beauties on vinyl. Both songs convey the crude and disrespectful attitude of the fucking society towards her and her kind. It becomes clear when you listening to the songs how energetic she brought herself in. Fazit: a successful debut for two extraordinary bands who are pioneers for a new genre and today's growing scene. Both can also be found on some Compilations.

LEATHERFACE - I Want The Moon EP 1991
When I'm drunk, or worried, or just unfocused and my mind is completely empty, I like to resort to tried-and-true methods. I don't need to write much about them because most of you already know them, and that's not to detract from the post, but it does make things easier for me, and now is such a moment. Today my friends from Leatherface from Sunderland are pushing me over the blind spot and not for sale is their intense fifth EP with three exquisite weaving arpeggiated guitar filigrees in amongst barrages of power and barre chords and one of the fiercest playing dynamic songs, two are non-album tracks, and released via Roughneck Records. These days, their 7Inchers are highly sought after and hard to come by, so that's enough for today. I'm tired and looking forward to tomorrow's day off.

THE NERVES - s/t EP 1976
I have one more and we shoot ourselves back almost fifty years and there is enough wiki info about the band and a little intro of it now: The Nerves were an American PowerPop trio, formed in San Francisco in 1974 and later based in Los Angeles, featuring Jack Lee (guitars), Peter Case (bass) and Paul Collins (drums). All three members composed songs and sang. They managed an international tour in the U.S. and Canada, including dates with the Ramones, and performances for the troops as part of the United Services Organization (USO). Their career was over by 1978, but they produced a great EP that featured the PowerPop classic "Hanging On The Telephone," which was later recorded (and brilliantly so) by Blondie. (John Dougan) In addition to being the drummer, Paul was also the trio's manager and did most of the bookings and promotion. The Nerves' EP was distributed by independent Bomp! Records and officially re-released on CD and vinyl by Alive Records in 2008. - All I can say about the EP itself is: four fantastic songs that are second to none, with beautiful melodies and excellent lyrics. Timeless and suitable for any romantic occasion, perfect for your sweetheart who doesn't understand that you love her, or anything along those lines. With these songs, you can declare yourself and win the heart of the person you want. And look at all the filth that is broadcast over the airwaves today. I mean, I don't follow any of it, but I am confronted with the new shit sound in the train, on the street or in the World Wide Web, and I am always disgusted by the stupid and simple-minded piss that is gloriously celebrated and yet has nothing honest or authentic about it. A real disgrace, and the masses buy their nonsense and make them rich. Stupid. Well, some say Musicblogs are ruining the music scene, I say: We make sure that really good and beautiful music stays alive. And in this spirit, let's continue and now have heavenly moments with this beautiful record!
