V/A - Life Is Change Vol.2 1991

Late on this Sunday and my last post is another international punk compilation which is for me one of the better publication on BeriBeri Records with the philosophical title "Life Is Change ". And indeed, current to me and that is reason enough to post the album now. The band/song selection is quite excellent and most songs are not published elsewhere (EA80, Spermbirds, Vagrants, Gruschenko...). Lyrically very emotinal which is probably due to the title of this compilation and all eleven bands prove this splendid. Also the artwork is more mature than Vol.1 and the EA80 track is one of my favorite songs. Also awesome both Vagrants songs which kill slowly my heart and I never heard before a band that transfer such emotional intensity with depth. I wish there were more bands like them. Wonderful!! Highly recommend album and you should buy a copy if you have the chance.

V/A - Underground Hits 2 1983

Another classic Punk Compilation is this record and I found a good review so I can save any useless words: "In the early to mid 1980s, hardcore punk was on the rise and in some cases the records were selling in the thousands, especially the LPs. There was a whole slew of independent record distributors stocking this new exciting music and the records were finding their way into more and more stores. During this time, the German label Aggressive Rock Produktionen had the idea to start licensing some US hardcore records for release overseas in their home country in an effort to have the records available locally, and not as pricey imports. The label also did a pair of compilations called Underground Hits. Volume One had a pretty equal mix of US and German bands while this one, Volume Two, featured mostly US bands. What was unique about this one was that some of the tracks on here were exclusive to this comp and would be that way for years." - Thanks for this!

V/A - Streets 1977

"Select Highlights From Independent British Labels" and what an amazing LP this it. This glorious Compilation was released by Beggars Banquet Records and contains 17 Bands/17 Songs. I wonder each time how many fantastic bands make music in the early days where punk was new & the hype grows high. Here as well. Most bands have perhaps only one song released or an EP and some other (Slaughter & The Dogs or The Reaction, were later known as the pop band Talk Talk) became famous. And for me this music from the early days is pure, wild, aggressive and honest by comparison with today where much scrap is produced, yeah... I love this record - So get this Nugget and you know what I mean. Awesome Stuff!!!!!

1.Trash - THE DOLL
2.Fear On The Streets - THE MEMBERS
3.Be My Prisoner - THE LURKERS
4.Isgodaman - ARTHUR COMICS?

V/A - Zu Gast Bei No Fun 1983

David Volksmund Produktion is guest at No Fun Records and out comes a very good complation with both label bands. The punky songs come from No Fun while David rather released the alternative classics. The only thing that really annoys are the stupid announcements between the songs, I've thought to cut these out because this fucks really up and which idiot had this stupid idea? Well, shit on this, the music is overall nice, most of the songs are on the bands records and not really rare but this album is it and from the bands as well. 11.DNS - BÄRCHEN & DIE MILCHBUBIS

V/A - Children In Heat 1996

A really worth listening is this Misfits tribute compilation with swedish and german bands and they record a wonderful song selection and they sound almost like the real classics of the Misfits, sometimes here & there a little bit different but Ithink this is the sense of cover songs. Rocks quite cool this album. I remember, I bought the LP at a concert from Turbostaat in the Rote Flora 1998 in Hamburg and I know for certain because that time I was deep in love (jajaja...it's long time ago but that's another sad story) - The record is limited to 666 copies, hand numbered and thirteen songs on it and every Misfits friend should try a listen.

V/A - 125 Grammes De 33 1/3 Tours 1979

Before I make myself comfortable in front of the TV and watch the Champions League match FC Bayern - FC Porto this quick post of this nearly 33 minute piece of vinyl. Released via Oxygene Recods gives this record a good mix of punk, alternative, powerpop and a bit ska. I like those sampler which come along pretty varied and are equipped with bands I don't know 80% and can inspire me, yes, the French underground scene has much to offer.
