MORDBUBEN AG - Bleib Blöd 7'' 1979

Last post for this month and first and foremost I would like you to recommend a new blog called Austrian Underground and let's visit Thomas, say Hallo :)) and join more rare Austrian punk music. So, this early Austrian punk band has been formed in Vienna 1978 and was with the imprisonment of bandleader Fredi Fender a little thrown off course and with multiple interruptions and changing occupations they existed until 1983. As far as I know, the band released a 7'' and one album called 'Angst Vorm Rock'n Roll?' and some sampler contributions. The Mordbuben AG stands for the Viennese dialect sung snotty punk rock songs. Here on it the legendary Beatles cover version plus the aggressive 'Bleib' Blöd'. Both songs are just quite brilliant. Due to the unexpected death of the Mordbuben AG band leader Fredi Fender in April 2010 there was in his memory and for his 60th birthday a memorial concert given in Vienna on 28. May 2010. I think it was very special. - Enjoy this historic little piece of early Vienna KBD stuff.

THE ROUSERS - A Treat Of New Beat 1980

A real masterpiece of PowerPop classic is the debut record by this combo. The Rousers from Broek op Langedijk (near under the smoke of Alkmaar) were one of the first Dutch New Wave bands. Inspired by the new momentum in the British pop music the band was founded on 19 September 1977 by the brothers Cock (vox + guitars) and Jan de Jong (drums), along with Rob Marienus (bass) and Theo van der Plas. In the beginning they play their own work and some covers. They played songs by The Beatles, The Damned, The Ramones and The Buzzcocks and this combination would determine the sound that the band develops and that they refer to themselves as New Beat. In January 1979 the Wieb (guitars) and Bonne Zigtema (vox) brothers join the band, Theo left. In the same year the first 7inch 'Magazine Girl' was released on Ariola/Torso and became a legend. Quickly they became celebrated, no wonder with their bright guitars, polyphonic harmonies and rhythmic clapping, the influence of the early beat music is clearly cognisable. Nevertheless, the band has a distinctly contemporary sound. After this record the band released all in all three singles and a second album called 'Touched'. 1981 the band broke up and split into The Thought and The Shavers. V/A - Hilse 1979

The Hilse record was the first Finnish punk compilation and it really has all the important punk bands of the late 70's on it. A LP that everyone should have in your record collection. There are many simple reasons, the song 'Just Like Eddy, I Hate Teddy' from KOHU-63 is awesome, 'Ketään Ei Kiinnosta Mitään' by Pelle Miljoona 1980 is crazy & weird, the Beatles cover (Sensuuri), Briard & Ratsia tracks are killers etc. etc....all eighteen songs rock decently how we all like & know Finnish PunkRock (this is the CD version with eleven goodies from Hilse II). Enjoy!!!!
