V/A - .EP. 1985

Another rarity from the house of Fredrik's small music box is this little compilation EP with, of course, four Swedish punk bands that are relatively unknown to me. Probably appeared in small copies and today traded for a lot of money from collectors, such is life. The first track crashes off with brisk melodic punk rock with a rough voice, next, another snotty solid track with some breaks and again with a rough voice (is here the same singer on the mic?), the third one is a cool poppy tune with a light, catchy rock sound and a long guitar solo and with almost four minutes the longest song (no rough voice), also fine and last but not least: Tredje Könet from Stockholm with a pretty '77 punk tune. All sung in Swedish and one more lost nugget that has surfaced again.

TREDJE KÖNET - Fyra Hits EP 1986

A band who were active in the mid 80's and released two records on Rosa Honung Records are Tredje Könet (which means: The Third Gender) from Stockholm. Members were Ylva (bass), Timo (drums), Jojje (guitars) and Leffe (vox + guitar) and the four pull down here four rousing mid-tempo melodic punk songs. They existed for three years and played a lot of gigs in Stockholm and after releasing their mini album Fågeln the band split up. I just see that I have the album too, coming soon on this channel. Until then, this first little delicacy and don't miss the Birkagården Gärdet compilation where you find one more song.

TREDJE KÖNET - Fågeln 12'' 1987

A cool decent follow-up to their excellent debut Fyra Hits EP from 1986. Pressed again on Rosa Honung Records shines this platter with an excellent production and seven punkrock goodies. Clearly heard that the four men were very hardworking and I find their music has become richer and more mature (compare the songs with the .EP compilation from 1985). Really nice interplay! This twenty minute rocket is very interesting as well. From the beginning to the end a decent tempo, perfect harmony guitars, powerful drums sound as I like it, fat bass and a loud voice. Particularly noteworthy is the successful ballad 'Tankar' which stimulates my ears again. Overall Fågeln makes for a good listen and has a permanent place in my player conquered.

V/A - Birkagården Gärdet 1986

I love stuff like this and next here is a ultra-rare live compilation which was released on Rosa Honung Rec. The songs were recorded in January & August 1985 and the rest in February 1986 at different places in Sweden. Besides the Instigators there are only Swedish bands present. A hot mix of punk & hardcore come along in a decent sound quality. If you search for some new bands then this record will inspire you. SKÅL!
