SLUTS'N - Teddybär EP 1995

In early 1980, three guys and a girl from Braunschweig banded together, deciding to make some noise, marking the birth of Sluts. The original line-up featured Schlampe (vocals), Pelle (guitar), Kat (bass) & Peter (drums). Over the next two years, the band performed frequently in and around Braunschweig and released one great album via AGR, but the end came quickly. Sluts disbanded in 1982. In 1983, Schlampe & Peter joined Aktive Notwehr (coming soon), a band that was being reactivated in Braunschweig at the time. Pelle moved to Heidelberg and reformed Sluts in 1986. To distinguish the group from the original band, an "N" (for "neu"/"new") was added to the name. Since then, the name has been Sluts'n. This second line-up featured Tille (vocals), Ali & Pelle (guitars), Dirk (bass) and Jogi (drums). While the style of the old Sluts leaned more towards classic mid-tempo German Punk, the sound of Sluts'n evolved further, yet retained that characteristic, brash attitude. Several years of line-up changes followed; only Pelle remained a constant presence. Vocalists changed particularly often, though Klaus held the position for many years. Ali left in 1988, and Martin took over on drums. In 1991, Jürgen stepped in on bass, replacing Dirk; the band played as a trio until 1994, with Pelle handling vocals during that period. In 1994, Diesel joined as the vocalist; at just sixteen years old, she was the youngest member of the band. They continued making noise as a quartet for eight years until Jürgen left in 2002. Diesel then took over bass duties as well, and the trio line-up remains in place to this day. Teddybär is their latest release to date; issued on Impact Records in two versions, it marks a stylistic shift away from raw, minimalist '82-style PogoPunk toward a sound that is more melodic yet still aggressive. This EP delivers five highly catchy, dynamic, and hate-filled tracks, complete with humorous, sarcastic broadsides and three-chord structures without sacrificing that signature Punk grit; it is a raw In-Your-Face experience, delivered with significantly more punch and clarity. For fans of classic Nineties German Punk and collectors of rare 7Inch records, this EP is a real find. It captures an exciting transitional phase of the band before things went quiet for them in the years that followed.

SLUTS - Bäh!!! 1982

German Punk classic and one of my favorite: Braunschweig early 1980, three guys and one girl got together and decided from now on to make Krach! - the birth of Sluts: Schlampe on the mic, Pelle torments the guitar, Kat tugged on bass and Peter sat on the drums. The Berlin based label Aggressive Rockproduktionen (AGR) set with this release a high standard and "Bäh!!!" is a milestone of German Anarcho-Punkrock. This album is like a drug, don't get confused by all the wankers who criticize this album as a typical punk cliché. Short and concise songs with brilliant lyrics. Unfortunately, their only album with this line-up. When I rip the LP, I found this music lost none of its freshness, hardness and energy. And who listen to this record once stays forever punk & the feeling never goes out (I felt that with many records but this here is every time a blast!), and here I feel like going on the road and hit someone in the face, Streetfight...hell Yeah!!!! In the following two years, the band played several times in Braunschweig and environment, but the end was approaching rapidly and in 1982 Sluts disbanded. Schlampe and Peter joined in 1983 Aktive Notwehr, which were reactivated at this time. Pelle went to Heidelberg and founded 1986 Sluts new. To show that it's not the original band, the name has been attached with an N (new). Since then the band called SLUTS'N. Several years with several line-up changes followed, especially the singer changed frequently, only Pelle on guitar held by constant. Martin sit on the drums since 1988 and sits there even to this day. In this current triple-cast Sluts'N have played around 30 live gigs and released two 7inches and two albums. Overall, Bäh!!! is full of mid-to slow tempo numbers with good strong hooks. ESSENTIAL!!!!!!!!

V/A - Soundtracks Zum Untergang 2 1982

One of the best compilations ever from Germany are the first two AGR goodies. All bands are great, all songs are damn classics. With these both I grew up. The music is just sensational and the lyrics quite offensive, creating real doom mood. I don't know how often this sound shows me that I'm on the right track (haha) and I mean together with the Keine Experimente compilations from Weird System are these four records the most important and best plates which were ever published here in fuckin' germoney. I think the resonance overseas was accordingly positive. Today this record is re-released but the band name from the Böhse Onkelz was deleted... pitiful if you ask me, but that's another story. 19 glamorous tracks from the good old days and incidentally a request of a good friend is fulfilled. GET IT!!!
