A short trip across the Atlantic and we visit the Nunfuckers. Short Info: "Formed in July of 1985 in Waterloo/Ontario. The first practice was in Bob's garage - Bob on drums, Dave on guitar, Ian on vocals and Todd on guitar. Practice went for a couple of hours. When Todd got bored and left, Ian, Bob and Dave wrote and recorded the "Today Is A Good Day" demo (on a tape recorder). At least one song on the demo had lyrics about actually fucking nuns." After a second demo the band returned in 1987 to CKMS to record their only EP with eleven songs (this one) in two hours for $30. 1.000 copies were pressed at World Records in Bowmanville and the record got a good review in MMR #49 (I've always enjoyed stuff like this: tight, to-the-point thrash with basic production and snappy riffing. Although I can't say this is remarkably original, it connects with charm, fun, and touches of songwriting quality. Very good! (Steve Spinali, MRR #49 • June 1987) and sold out in five months by mail order, mostly to Germany. The Nunfuckers disbanded after playing terribly at the University of Guelph in early 1988." Well, what I can say is that the record is a decent Hardcore relic but the production is a bit dull, of course that could be due to the rip, which is not mine, but overall it is an important sound document of Canadian Punkrock. They also appear on some tape Compilations that received little attention.
