HEKÁTĒ - Days Of Wrath 2020

I was introduced to the next band by a user who mentioned them in the comments many months ago and I searched and found them and I am grateful for this valuable tip because their music they is exactly my taste. We're talbin' about Hekátē and they were founded in the spring of 2018, out of a need to express the bleak and stressful way οf life in Athens and consisted of Lydia (vocals/sound collage), Chara (bass), Iris (synths), Vicky (drums) and this is their brilliant debot on La Vida Es Un Mus with eight heavy multi-referential explosive magic potions. Info: "It is no coincidence that they chose the name of the ancient goddess Hekátē, associated with the underworld, magic, night and crossroads. Hekátē are four women with different paths, who led them to the same crossroads, in the eternal night of Athens. Their music is multifaceted, an explosive mixture of their magical filters. The heavy, melodic bass establishes the foundations of their Post-Punk sound. The keyboards, more electric than electronic, are heard clearly and sometimes lean towards a smart New Wave and sometimes wink at garage, while the vocals are reminiscent of an angry, metered recitation that tramples on the melodies. The record title, Days Of Wrath, is a translation of the Medieval hymn “Dies Irae,” which warns of God’s wrath, which will come down on the people during the Second Coming. Through their lyrics, Hekátē turn their wrath towards God, the people who created Him and the constricting world those people sustain. It starts out like a cry for help and climaxes into a war cry. Hekátē is the voice of a generation of emancipated women in motion and this record is a deeply poetic, atmospheric album, imbued with melancholic melodies that know how to step on the gas to carry you to the other side." My Conclusion: Powerful package paired with impressive presence!
