My top ten live albums include the following great The Damned record! Released via Essential! Records and this beauty was recorded at London Town & Country Club 13.June 1988. All their well-known classics performed at the highest level with power and energy, an absolutely rip-roaring audio document of an unique Gig. Wiki info: "The set begins with the original line-up and morphs through the various line-ups of the band, each playing on the tracks which that lineup recorded in the studio. It was recorded at a time when the band were in a chaotic state, without a record contract, after being dropped by their only major label." Seventeen smasher in one hour and you can start the whole thing again and again, because the sound is so brilliant and infectious. For me an intense kick into the weekend, Cheers!
I saw The Damned a couple of years ago, and they were every bit as good as 40 years ago! Despite the "advanced age", they still rock with lots of energy!
ReplyDeleteToo bad there is no decent bootleg recording of the RAMONES. I saw them live in 1989 in Böblingen on the Brain Drain Tour. It was the best concert ever! They played every song twice as fast, only interrupted by Joey's 1-2-3-4 before the next classic at hardcore speed!
ReplyDeleteI stand corrected. Apparently, there is a bootleg out there: Ramones – Wart Hog live at Sporthalle, Böblingen, Germany 20.11.1989. https://www.discogs.com/release/2577089-Ramones-Wart-Hog ... If anyone has it, PLEASE share it!
ReplyDeletecoming soon
DeleteThere’s so many fantastic Live Damned albums that I can’t keep up with them anymore.
ReplyDeleteNot a bootleg but Ramones - It's Alive is one of my favourite live albums ever. Hardly a gap between songs.
