V/A - Bloodstains Across Philadelphia 2011

Let's start the last week of April with a 'deception' and at first I thought WOW!, another Killer compi. of this brilliant series but that's not the case and I was, perhaps, a little disappointed at first sight but I'm a fan of creative ideas and I like this about the slab, and already irritation gives way to enthusiasm, that's innovation! A few words of the makers about all this: "Try not to let the name or cover fool you, what we have here is a brand NEW Philadelphia Punk & Hardcore record showcasing twnty-four bands that the city of Brotherly Love currently has to offer. In an age where the compilation has pretty much gone the way of the dinosaur, it's quite impressive to see not only a twenty-four song compilation, but an entirely regional one to boot. Great cover art in the tradition of the classic Bloodstains series, and a nice full size booklet (I haven't scanned because it's too much work) featuring one page per band. If you were curious to see what's been going down in Philly these days, this is a good place to start!" - Cool record, cool bands, cool music and there is enough splendid stuff for everyone, Heureka!

  2. its actually pretty good, has some grind stuff on it... This Cousin Brian song is probably as close you get to classic Bloodstain sound. But all these bands deff are influenced one way or another by those comps. good post!

  3. I'm from Philadelphia and it's very disappointing because an actual Bloodstains could be made. And I'm actually FROM here, I can guarantee almost all of these kids moved from somewhere else.
