CRIMINAL SEX - Gangsters EP 1982

Criminal Sex were a four piece from Chesterfield and consisted of Pez (vocals), Bern (guitar), Sime (bass), Noz (drums) and their lone record was released via Flexi Tits Disc and this a damn cool stuff. Four brilliant old fashioned Eighties UK Punk smasher in less than seven minutes are being smashed out of here, and it's a shame there's only one fucking slab. The guys had potential and are rough and crazy in their own way. Intense and powerful and a real delight for any old school lover. On compilations they made it on an EP (Bloodsucker, '86) and three tapes. You see, the four are not hermits, but they aren't a busy musical ballet either. And when the pain was no longer bearable, the band was revived with a different formation as Criminal X and in 2017 the album Ernie Else Is A Police Informant followed, which received mostly positive feedback (read) and we will see how it goes on, enjoy!

Erlaube mir ein Zitat von Frank Zappa - “Information is not knowledge. Knowledge is not wisdom.
    Wisdom is not truth.
    Truth is not beauty.
    Beauty is not love.
    Love is not music.
    Music is THE BEST.”

  2. ...und trotzdem?? Was ist gut - was nicht ??

  3. As a teenage punk in Chesterfield, I saw Criminal Sex play live more times than I can remember though the stand-out memory is Pez doing his Elvis impression.
The band morphed into Dead Meat and then No Dead Meat after one of their members Noah went full on animal rights! I did organise one of their gigs a free one around 1985/1986 on top of a multi-storey carpark complete with generators and getting it stopped by the cops who were wondering why 50 assorted punks, goths and stoner weirdos had assembled at midday on a Sunday for a free gig.
If memory serves, it was part of a national day of free carpark gigs.

One band that no-one seems to remember were a band from Mansfield near Chesterfield called the Scum Dribblerz (or some spelling like that) - they predated bands like Sore Throat and Electro-Hippies and did songs that were a minute long - im sure there were only 2 members - I did have a tape of them in another life so they definitely must have released a demo or a live recording.

Came on this site totally randomly from blackwalls2 via Wet Dreams but when I saw the Criminal Sex EP (I think i had 2 or 3 copies as did everyone in Chesterfield at the time lol) I was suddenly transported 40 years back in time, so many thanks!
