I'm very tired but one still goes: GG Allin was a musician and songwriter who performed and recorded with many groups during his career and I think many undiscovered recordings are left and this compilation from Fan Club, established by New Rose Records for the purpose of re-releasing material that is rare, out of print, or of "historical" interest, demonstrates a small collection of them. He is best remembered for his live performances that featured transgressive acts such as onstage defecation and copraphagia, committing self harm, and other violent actions toward the audience. He recorded prolifically, not only in the Punk genre, but also Spoken Word, Country, and Stones-influenced rock. Allin's music was often poorly recorded and produced, given limited distribution, and met with mostly negative reviews from critics, although he maintained a cult following throughout and after his career. Allin promised for several years that he would commit suicide on stage during one of his concerts, but instead died from an accidental drug overdose on June 28, 1993, at the age of thirty-six.
