I note, that the Swedish posts are not visited very often and that's a shame because there are countless cool bands from this beautiful country and one more example is this combo and I can't say absolutely nothing about this band, only they consisted of six members: Erik (vocals), Mikael & Bo (guitars), Tommy (bass), Per (sax), Gun (drums) and in their short life they made one 7Inch on Gotonto Skivor. The a-side is nice reggae tune with rhythmic blowers in the typical Marley style while the flip shines with an excellent mid-tempo candy and should turns everyone on. They probably played a few concerts and briefly broke up after the recordings. In any case, this is a very good record.
one of the best covers I've ever seen.

I've got to say that most foreign punk/new wave is either shit hit or basically very shit. Think this one falls into the latter section. Foreign hardcore punk bands etc... were probably some of the best in the world. Especially Sweden & Finland but then i've been listening to a lot of German punk as of late & to be honest a lot of the earlier stuff was shit. A great blog you have here but sorry to say some of it is shit and that's why people don't look at it. Sorry mate but please keep this great blog going. They're getting less & less every year. Cheers.
ReplyDeletethx for your frank words, taste is inviolable and yes, you are right, there is a lot of shit but to say there is shit and buckets full of shit is a rather flimsy opinion and I think people are too influenced or spoiled by the better known bands so they don’t care about a small combo who are having trouble releasing a 7'', and not all visitors are punx. Anyway, I'm always happy about new opinions & views, Prost!
DeleteSorry mate. I wasn't referring to small time bands. I love a lot of virtually unknown bands. I love nothing better than someone posting a demo,7'', LP or EP by some one i've never heard of before. I started listening to punk with the more hardcore 80's bands so a lot of the 70's stuff doesn't do much for me. That's not to say that there weren't some brilliant bands then as well. Just that a lot of Powerpop bands got classed as punk & really it was shit. Hope i haven't offended your views. Just my thoughts. Cheers
