Something exciting new is coming from Athens and the three members; Jason (vocals/bass), Dino (guitars) and Vangelis (drums) are Chain Cult. These guys released their powerful demo as tape and also as 10'' via the London label La Vida Es Un Mus. Their post punk is anthemic, militant and idealistic, putting music to a very dark and bleak time and place with a lot of groove and interesting lyrics. Another single followed and recently their passionate first album Shallow Grave was released. I am extreme impressed of their sound and it is by far the best new combo that I have heard in the past two years. I strongly advise you to keep an eye out for gigs and other records and I hope, they stay in the music world for a long time.
