High energy pub punk rock by the Kursaals, founded as the Kursaal Flyers in Southend in October 1973 and are considered a band that "bridges the gap between pub rock and power pop". They released five albums and a couple of 7Inches. They toured extensively and after numerous personnel changes, the band disintegrated in late 1977. Following the Kursaals' demise, Shuttleworth (vocals) released several solo records, Douglas (guitar) enjoyed success with Eddie & The Hot Rods, and Birch (drums) formed The Records. The group reformed for tours in 1985 and 1988, and in 2001 they reformed on a more permanent basis. TV Generation was released on CBS Records and offers two delicious stouts.
