The band who never made an album and that's really a shame because this combo is one of the best Swedish Punk bands ever in my opinion. They released three amazing 7inches and that's it and the band knows that they have many more nice tracks which need to be heard. So in 2004 they dig out this eighteen track compilation with all released material plus demos and radio recordings. The result is superb. They blend all styles of music that exist in punk into a magnificent firework, every song is a real hammer, I promise you this CD stays for a while in your CD/mp3 player. Also worth mentioning is the artwork with all the info you just have to know, unfortunately all in Swedish but it doesn't matter, I give you a little reflection about the band: "Bruset came out of the suburb of Kortedala in Gothenburg on the west coast of Sweden. The nucleus was formed in 1976, with this lineup: Hans Anderson (gtr, bg voc), Janne Blomquist (gtr, bg voc), Thorbjörn Jonsson (ld voc), Håkan Lundberg (bs), Håkan Sandsjö (drms). in place in 1977. They began as a sort of pub rock/garage cover band, and when punk came along Bruset found an environment and fitted well into, started writing their own stuff, and took it from there. Being a few years older than most of the other bands, they were very active in the formation of the local "punk rock infrastructure", in view of their relative experience, organizing gigs together with the other bands until the clubs, media and record comapnies finally took notice of the punk phenomenon. By way of ska, Bruset gradually moved on into reggae and other more rhytmic music. They recorded half an album in 1980, the project being cut short by the drummer leaving the band. They were active from 1981, touring heavily in Sweden & Denmark, at this stage featuring a percussionist and a keyboard player and occasionally, a brass section. Bruset played their final gig in August of 1984." Highly recommended and for me one of the best releases: Rock, Punk, Pop, Ska & Reggae, Yeah!!!!
