The Seminal Rats were an Australian punk/indie rock band, based in Melbourne, who existed from 1984 until the accidental heroin overdose death of lead guitarist Michael Weber on January 2, 1999. One of the best post-Birdman outfits of their time, their sound was an anthemic, loud and reckless combination of their musical inspirations: Saints, Detroit rock, '60s garage and American hardcore.
